Commercial Description:
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

12oz. Bottle. Have heard many good things and am pleased to say that it lives up to its billing. Jet black color with a nicely lacing layer of tan froth. Nose is predominantly espresso with some hints of bitter chocolate underneath. Big roasted flavor that is not for the faint of heart. Can’t really taste the oatmeal, but you can feel it in the texture which has a velvety creaminess. Surprisingly this beer is also very bitter and not at all sugary or sweet. Layered beneath the huge coffee grind roast character are traces of dark chocolate, charred caramel and mint. Finishes with a dry, lingering and slightly bitter flourish that makes you crave the next sip. Alcohol is extremely well disguised throughout and is pretty much unnoticeable even as the beer warms up. Love the kid on the bottle, makes me want to try this in my Cheerios tomorrow.

Smells completely like coffee. A lot of coffee in this, especially up front. This is good but too much coffee for my liking.

Big thanks to drowland for this one. Pitch black pour with a nice tan head that rests on top of it. Gorgeous warm chocolate aroma. Some amount of roasted coffee ground also. Very nice aroma. Wow wonderful taste. Chocolate with soft coffee taste. Starbucks would be envious! Smooth mouthfeel with a roasted aftertaste that provides the right balance to the taste. I love this!

I just noticed that I had this beer multiple times, but never got around to rating it and it seems because of this beer’s fancy reputation it is quite a shame that it does not form a notch in my belt. Black beer with a nice brown head... to put it shortly as stout as stout gets. Aroma is of what we would call breakfast... coffee, oatmeal, burnt sugar, carmelized sugar, the aforementioned two things on said oatmeal... just dank overall. Dark chocolate and dark coffee go do the taste. And unlike the last rater stout is what’s for breakfast.

Bottled at Monks Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm. Pours out in a rich creamy pale brown head. Rich bitter sweet coffe bean aroma with notes of Muscavado sugar, cinnamon, burnt caramel, caramelized sugar, mint and inky hops. Full-bodied with notes of roasted coffee, brown sugar, fudge, spices, mint add mild yet lingering citrousy hops. Long full finish packed of dark coffee and dark chocolate with undertones of fudge, grass and mint. Tasty stuff, wouldn’t drink it for breakfast, though...

12oz - Finally tracked this down. Pours like two stroke oil, no real head. Roasted marshmallows and campfire on palate. Big roasted notes on palate without an oily linger. Nice.

ppearance is a thick, oily, viscous liquid. Dark as night. The head was about one finger, mocha colored, and thin, disappating into a few islands. When swirling the glass a little this liquid looks extremely thick. The nose is roasted coffee up front and a creamy scent. No trace of alcohol. Very nice. Taste is accurate to the name, a nice sip of a great amount roasted coffee beans, milk, and a medium sweet malty sensation in the background. Leaves a fantastic coffee aftertaste; I wish I had a real coffee that tasted this good. Mouth is good, this isn’t nearly as thick as it looks when pouring it. Carbonation is medium, body is medium. No heat feeling. Very creamy.
