Commercial Description:
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

A lovely stout. Very enticing smell, like a fresh pot of coffee and chocolate. As expected rich coffee and mocha flavors deliciously blend with roasted malts, oats, and a subtle cigarette taste. It even tastes a bit like cookies and cream. It is full bodied, smooth and creamy and finishes dry and bitter.

Hearty aroma of ashes, cold coffee, chocolate, oats and more coffee/chocolate. Rich dark brown in color with a thick, frothy, dark tan head and huge layers of lacing. Looks perfect. Silky and sweet, mild bitterness coupled by a velvety finish and plenty of good lingering flavors. Tastes of bitter-sweet chocolate, dry oatmeal, coffee with heavy cream as well as some floral, green hops. Very, very good stout. I found it similar to the Peche Mortel in the aroma and flavor departments. Surprisingly easy drinker with a grand and robust flavor profile.

Draft at The Black Squirrel. Pours a dark black. Thin brown head with lots of retention. Nose is lots of coffee, some dark chocolate, but mostly coffee. Really thick palette. Vaguely reminds me of a Dunkin Donuts Mocha Coolatta. I know it’s sacrilegious to compare the two, but meh. Lots of coffee and roasted malt flavor. Overall very good, but you knew that from the other 1200 ratings. I prefer the Canadian Breakfast Stout, which I think has a more complex flavor profile.

Bottle pour, black with great beige head.Aroma was sweet chocolate, coffee, and malt. The flavor was coffee, nutty, chocolate but the roasted malts were a little more present than in the nose. Finish had a touch of hops which I had not picked up on in the past, but it worked well.

Coffee flavored explosion! Hint of chocolate backed up by monstrous coffee flovor. A smooth stout with a nice lingering finish.

Chocolate in color with big tasty looking brown head as well. Smells like coffee. Leaves a beautiful lacing and tastes like coffee and dark chocolate
