Commercial Description:
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

bottle. pours oily black with a dark brown head. a very light roasted barley aroma. moderate to thick body - impressively dry. not at all cloying. extremely smooth taste likely due to the oatmeal element. bitter sweet chocolate and espresso flavors on the back end. nicely balanced for an imperial. no alcohol noticeable in taste. i bet the carbonation would fall in perfectly with some cellaring.

Pours thick dark black with a very thin tan head. Excellent roasted chocolate and coffee aromas with a hint of oak. Wonderful robust espresso and oatmeal flavor with a rich and creamy body. What a beer, I could drink this for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Pours a jet black with a smallish tan head. Smell is of black roasted coffee, dark chocolate and oats. Mouthfeel is thick and syrupy. Not much carbonation. Flavor was very complex, consisting of dark coffee, sweet roasted malts, and subtle coffee.

(10/13/08) Draught at Map Room in Chicago. Opaque black-colored with a medium light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee beans. Sweet roasty flavor with some Turkish coffee and finishes with lingering bitterness with roastiness and some herbal notes. Rather full-bodied. A very good Stout.

Goblet poured draft at Flossmoor Station Brewpub. I jumped at the opportunity to try this draft and save my two bottles for trading / cellaring. Pours an opaque black pour with brown foamy head in the standard goblet. Aromas are very nice: cocoa, coffee, and chocolate with a touch of roasted malt. Sweetness evident. Initial is a wonderful serious but not overly sharp mix of chocolate and coffee, even a bit of mocha even. Some of the sharper coffee bitterness is evident in the body and finish with some subtle yet flavorful roasted malt characteristics. Oatmeal sweetness works into the body part way into the goblet. A very flavorful stout with a touch of warming booze on the back end and the lingering coffee with a touch of chocolate. Very nice. Cheers!

Bottle purchased at Corral Liquors in Granite City Il As I poured it, I was reminded that I need to change the oil in my truck. Very minimal head. I’m usually not that good at defining the smells and tastes of the beers I drink, but this one made it easy...Coffee, coffee, coffee and chocolate! I’ll be buying more.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of ucusty. Thanks! Thick, viscous dark brown pour. Lots of coffee and bitter roasted malts in the aroma. Smooth coffee notes in the taste on top of bitter roasted malts and light smoke. Medium bodied.
