Commercial Description:
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

Sampled with Decaturstevo, Shag, and Beerhawk over breakfast after the zap-it gathering. Near black pour with huge light brown head. Aroma is like Kahlua. Flavors of dark chocolate and coffee. Medium full body with low carbonation. Admittedly, i’m not a coffee drinker, but this was enjoyable. Gotta start the day right with an 8% abv! What a way to end an awesome tasting.

Bottle pours thick black with a milk chocolate head that was produced through a vigorous pour. The aroma is of coffee and roasted malt. The flavor - this is one of the most drinkable IS’s I’ve ever had. There are nice and understated coffee and malt characteristics, all combined nicely with some hops. The palate is rich, yet lively. Overall, this is very nice.

12 oz bottle into wineglass. Near oil black pour – pitch black body in class – great espresso brown head that is so creamy and has unbelievable retention and leaving very dense lace when it does finally fall. Aroma is so full it is thick – lots of coffee and dark (as well as milk) chocolate, as well as some oaky vanilla and sticky molasses with a very subtle rich whiskey-like boozyness – great. Flavor is the same but with a much more pronounced hoppyness (which is good, but throws the balance off a bit). Hardly any alcohol in the flavor. Not the thickest imperial stout but an unbelievably dense texture from the oats (I know this doesn’t sound like it makes much sense, but I can’t explain it much better) and very soft beautiful perfectly fitting carbonation. Overall: the aroma is really the kicker here in that the flavor appearance and palate exhibit typical characteristics of a good impy stout; but, the coffee character to the aroma is truly unique and very reminiscent of fine dark coffee, not just a dunken donuts light coffee acid bitterness. This thing would be outstanding for breakfast with some frosted miny wheats or waffles!

Bottle. Poured a motor oil black into a snifter. Aroma of roasted coffee, molasses and a hint of bitter chocolate. Flavor of oats, espresso, chocolate and some fruity notes. Full body with soft carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel.

From a bottle pours a dark black liquid that doesn’t allow any light to penetrate with a minimal head of darkish tan. The aroma is of roasty coffee, black licorice, with a slight hint of sweeter molasses. Big creamy mouthfeel brings out flavors of espresso, dark chocolate, and charred raisins. This is an incredible imperial stout!

bottle purchased from Archer Liquors. I’m glad I was fortunate enough to get a four pack of this from Archer! Breakfast Stout pours an intense thick black with a wonderful 1/2’’’’ tan head. The coffee aromas come forward predominately, and some oats follow behind. This beer is really thick - it truly is like a meal... or a damn good desert. Very full body over the palate, yet soft and extremely smooth. The intense coffee flavors dominate the palate, while the chocolate notes and oats come through on the sides and through the finish. There is some bitterness on the back as well. Overall this is a true standout that should be appreciated... it is a coffee bomb and an exquisite beverage.
