Commercial Description:
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

Bottled at Monks Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm. Pours out in a rich creamy pale brown head. Rich bitter sweet coffe bean aroma with notes of Muscavado sugar, cinnamon, burnt caramel, caramelized sugar, mint and inky hops. Full-bodied with notes of roasted coffee, brown sugar, fudge, spices, mint add mild yet lingering citrousy hops. Long full finish packed of dark coffee and dark chocolate with undertones of fudge, grass and mint. Tasty stuff, wouldn’t drink it for breakfast, though...

Bottle. Strong chocolate/coffee aroma - light astringency. Dark black/brown color with nice head and lacing. Chocolate, coffee, light burnt charcoal and creamy malt flavor. Hides its strength well - excellent.

Sampled at the Extreme Beer Fest. Pitch black color. Amazing aroma of coffee, roasted malt and chocolate. Amazing flavor of coffee, roasted malt and chocolate with a bitter finish. Medium body, creamy texture. Hmmm, very good, as good as it’s supposed to be.

Bottle thanks to mibirder. Ultra thick pour. Large rocky, dark brown head that leaves good lacing. Body is black as sin. Aroma is strong coffee, oatmeall, some vanilla and light chocolate. Taste is strong coffee, and finishes with bitterness from chocolate, and some oatmeal, as well as light tobbaco. Alcohol is well hidden. Creamy mouthfeel, light bubbles.

Bottled. Tnx Noize. Aroma has roast, chocolate, black currant and high quality coffee. Black coloured beer with a beige head. The taste is sweet and ends bitter. Has the roast, coffee and chocolate. Less fruitiness in the taste than in the aroma. Medium bodied. Well balanced stuff.

Tap at Boston Brookline Publick House. Black body topped by a long-lasting medium tan head. Roasted coffee beans, cacao, toasted bread, bitter black chocolate, floury choco-dessert. No fruity taste, floral hops or anything like that. Just pure “black stuff”. All the flavours you want from a stout, it’s all there with a slight focus on the roasted coffee beans taste with a dry floury cacao finish. This now sits on top of all the <insertprefix> Stout I ever had. I don’t know about the bottle (and to be honest I’m afraid to be disappointed) but the draught was simply perfect. The only thing wrong with it was its name, it’s some much more than that, it’s also a lunch stout, a dinner stout and a late night snack stout.

Pours pitch black with a garnet hue around the edges. Thin dark brown head that beat a hasty retreat. Thin and sticky lacing too. The aroma is really roasty with coffee and a bit of chocolate. Full-bodied and creamy, with a smoky flavor that came out of nowhere. Coffee, roasted malt and chocolate flavors are present too. The aftertaste is bitter and lasting, and the smokiness lingers long after. All in all this beer met my expectations but I am not sure that it lives up to all the hype. Still I wouldn’t kick it out of bed in the morning.

Aroma of roasted coffee, and lots, darkest brown, tiny cappuccino head. Flavour is full roast coffee, medium bodied, bitter, wonderful! This was especially nice to have from the mini-keg, Thanks to the generous Founders employees!
