Commercial Description:
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

Murky very dark brown. Very coffeeish aroma, like cold-ass Tim Horton’s. Blech. You go into a good coffee bean shop, something like Casa Acoreana in Kensington Market. You smell the beans, it’s wonderful. Nothing at all like this beer. Massive coffee flavour, very green and vegetal. Hint of chocolate. Big and thick, but simple. The coffee bludgeons everything with its vegetal harshness. Probably the most overrated beer I’ve ever had.

Black beer; thin creamy brown layer. Very nice coffeish aroma. Good coffee beer, with an expected malty sourness, good malt. Very good! Thanks Mads Berg for sharing this bottle.

[Courtesy of Storm, session @ yespr] Black with medium brown head. Burned malt in the aroma with coffee and liquerice. Same goes for the very burned malty flavor.

Motor oil black body, small borwn head. Aroma is medium sweet, coffee, roasty, coffee, coffee. Taste is mild sweet, very coffee. Smooth, medium-full body. I like but I do not love -- then again, I am not a coffee lover. Thanks jeffc666.

Bottle at London Gathering Nov 05. Black beer with thin lasting beige head. Lots of coffee and bitter chocolate. Really like the coffee on this, although most of the others at the gathering thought that the coffee was a bit too strong. However, for someone who drinks espresso all day at work, this beer was a real joy. Could have easily had the bottle to myself

Bottled (vintage 2005?)
Pitch black, huge brown creamy-cloudy head, lots of lace. Dark roasted malty aroma with tobacco and some chocolate. Full-bodied - heavy, coffee and pipe tobacco overdose. Tarry finish. Soft palate. Some hops in the aftertaste. This is not a beer for fast drinkers!

Thank you Yngwie for sharing this marvellous stout, it’s been very high on my wish list!! It’s pitch black with a dark brown and creamy head. The aroma is COFFEE, roasted malt and hints of smoke. The mouthfeel is oily and the beer clings to the glass - yummiiii... The flavour has notes of bitter, roasted coffee, a very light chocolate sweetness and light, smooth oats. It’s a beer that I wish would go on for ever..... 2448
