Subtle soft aroma of roasted barley and coffee. More of that roasty barley and coffee in the flavor with some added notes of chocolate. Balanced, drinkable, and seamingly well crafted, but how this beer stands out, so much so that it gets a 4.2 overall is beyond my comprehension. Snojerk321 (2020), San Diego, California, USA

Pours a thick, dark black, oily color with a nice sized robust brown head in a snifter. Smell is almost exclusively coffee, and wet coffee grounds. Not getting any oat or sweetness or chocolate particularly though. The body is nicely slightly thick and creamy. Flavor is also almost exclusively dark slightly bitter coffee grounds. Really would like a touch of sweetness to balance it all out. As it is, a touch more roasty burnt flavor than I expected, but still a fantastic stout.
