Opaque black with a small head that tries to last, and leaves some frosty lace. Aroma is pretty much pure coffee, maybe some oats. Flavor is coffee, turning to cocoa and oats, some light peanut and caramel. Yummy. Heavy body is smooth, sticky and dryish, with some light tingle. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA

Pours beautifully. Finally a Founders brew I can get behind. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA

Taste-bitter chocolate, coffee (of course!), lactic, kind of doughy and earthy. Tasty like a chocolate chip cookie. I wouldn’t drink this all the time, but it is a nice treat. Quite enjoyable. Good friend Aaron (Gasspasser) provided this taste treat. From the cool label to the final sip, this was fun. Body is almost black, topped by a small but frothy brown head. Just the way I like a beer to look, being a Stoutie. The aroma was a symphony of scents tickling the nose and seducing the olfactory senses. Coffee, definitely coffee. Malted chocolate balls. Roasted oatmeal. Full bodied with a thick, rich feel in the mouth. Slosh it around a bit. Hit all those tastebud areas. Get the full impact. You could actually feel the flavor. Taste the coffee, the malted chocolate, the roasted grains. Breakfast in a shaker. The best part of waking up. Beer for breakfast? In this case, YES! A pint of this, some eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, Texas toast. When they say that breakfast is the most important meal, they had this in mind. Wow. 11026 (1799), Alabama, USA

Big aroma coming off of this one. Coffee, chocolate and oatmeal can all be pulled out. Medium to full bodied. Coffee is all throughout the taste. Chocolate gives a sharp bitterness, oatmeal tones that down a little. Next mission, get a four pack of this delight. illinismitty (1797), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Nice dark brown head that diminshes to a ring. Very strong pleasant coffe aroma with some notes of molassess. Velvety mouthfeel. Initial flavor is similar to the aroma. The finish is creamy, and hits you with a nice flavor of bitter chocolate and mild coffee as it goes down the throat. This one gets better as it warms, and II found slightly above room temp to be optimum. Very nice beer as long as you like coffee. Maybe a bit too much coffee stood out for my tastes. Thanks to Founders for this treat AND for not putting this in Bombers. Now if only Alesmith would follow suit with the Speedway in 12 oz bottles. ryan (1778), Beltsville, Maryland, USA

Pours thick and black with a small tan head that quickly fades to a hazy cover. The aroma is incredible, lots of chocolate, coffee and molases. The flavor is rich and decadant, bitter dark chocolate covering espresso beans. The mouthfeel is soft and silky with a long, bitter finish.
