Commercial Description:
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

(on bottle, thanx to Mads)For the first time I can actually use the trem "oily" in a rating. This beer is jet black and has a oily structure; small lasting, beige head. Aroma wise it´s verymild and creamy. vanilla, small coffee sent, lychefruit and burned wood; all tied very balanced up. Again; an oily mouthfeel and the coffeeness turns it self up, into a bittersweet finish. Like th label too; do 6 year old kids have this stuff for breakfast?

Whoa! What a coffee dominance! Poured black with a very small head, slow drinking, but that’s good, very rewarding. Alcohol was subdued. nice.

Pours pitch black with a mostly receding tan head. Notes of dark chocolates, coffee, oats, and sweet roast. Taste is silky chocolate, vinous malts, roast, and a bit of hop resins with a warming alcohol finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation. A nice beer, but quite intense.

I’ve been searcing high and low for this beer around my area. I missed it a few times on draft at some local pubs and bars. Then on a trip to the newly opened Wegman’s in Collegeville, I found a four-pack in bottles. I immediately scouped it up and into my cart. I’ve heard a lot of hype about a lot of other beers in the past. Some have disappointed, others have lived up and delivered. This stout is definitely the ladder. This beer certainly delivers on all that was promised and spoken of. It pours a completely opaque black color with a small, but long-lasting beige head. There is a little bit of lacing left around the glass. The aroma is truely inviting and offers a glimpse of what is to come. I find hints of roasted coffee, earth, lightly toasted bread, cream, vanilla and a hint of caramel. My first thought after popping the cap and pouring the beer was, ’Wow, this beer is thick!" And thick it is! This beer actually coats the entire inside of my mouth. Some beers claim to pour like motor oil, but this one actually isn’t lying. They aren’t kidding when they say you can drink this with a folk. It is really that thick. The flavors are dangerously delicious, extremely balanced and completely drinkable. I’m actually surprised that this beer only registers 8.+%. This could easily reach 10% and higher. Maybe they make a version that high, and I could, at this point while enjoying this, only imagine what that would be like. The flavors are creamy and balanced, with lots of notes of dark roasted coffee and hints of chocolate, thick milk and bread. There is definitely a great mix of floral hops included, as well. The balance of this beer is incredible. Man, is this one delicious and devasting beer!

Bottle Poures a dark brown with a thin tan head. Very nice chocolatey, coffee-y aromas. Flavors are also de-lish. Terrific combination of coffee and chocolate. Wasn’t as rich and heavy on the palate as I like and expected a bit more from a top 50 but very tasty and I will be working on getting more.

Outstanding brew! So dark with a nice dark khaki head with some orangish tint. Aroma is of coffee, spice and malt. Flavor is a punch in the mouth of dark fruit, burnt malt and coffee with spice undertones that pleasantly highlight the other flavors. You can feel a bith of alcoholic warmth as the silky liquid coats your palate. Top notch!

viscous black pour with a fluffy light brown head that leaves nice spotty lacing. aroma is chocolate, coffee, roasty grains, lacto and light fruity sweetness. the palate is nice and dry with a roasty bitterness and low sweetness level. flavors of coffee, molasses, chocolate, roasted grain and salty characteristics. full bodied almost oily mouth feel but bitterness helps to cut through it. huge malty aftertaste. the flavor seems to drop off as it warms up. its good... it just feels as if it is missing something to put it over the top...

Dark brown with ruby highlights and a two finger brown lace leaving crown. Aroma of chocolate, oatmeal, coffee and roasted malt. Taste of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and oatmeal. Goes down pretty smooth and hides the alcohol well. Palate is medium and finishes up with a very mild hop presence with some chocolate and oatmeal mixed in.
