Commercial Description:
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

Pours jet black with a minimal tan head. Very little head retention with decent lacing. Serious roasted coffee aroma with chocolate complements. Got a little bit of malty sweetness in there as well. Very nice aroma just invites me into this one. Big roasted coffee taste with the slightest hint of dark chocolate malts and hops. Hops and coffee lead to a fairly bitter aftertaste. Oily and thick mouthfeel with minimal carbonation that causes a bit of tingling on the tongue. I would view this as a good, but not great stout. The heavy coffee and bitterness make it a bit less balanced than the aroma might indicate.

This is a stick-to-your ribs stout. Pours opaque black and thick. Smells of chocolate and malts. Tastes like mocha java leaning more heavily toward the mocha than the java. Goes down smoothly with a touch of bitterness in the aftertaste. For me, it’s just not for breakfast anymore.

Goblet poured draft at Flossmoor Station Brewpub. I jumped at the opportunity to try this draft and save my two bottles for trading / cellaring. Pours an opaque black pour with brown foamy head in the standard goblet. Aromas are very nice: cocoa, coffee, and chocolate with a touch of roasted malt. Sweetness evident. Initial is a wonderful serious but not overly sharp mix of chocolate and coffee, even a bit of mocha even. Some of the sharper coffee bitterness is evident in the body and finish with some subtle yet flavorful roasted malt characteristics. Oatmeal sweetness works into the body part way into the goblet. A very flavorful stout with a touch of warming booze on the back end and the lingering coffee with a touch of chocolate. Very nice. Cheers!

(Bottle) Pours an inky black color. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Taste includes copious amounts of dark chocolate, coffee, and burnt caramel. Creamy, full mouthfeel and low carbonation. Didn’t pick up very much oat in this, but an excellent beer nevertheless.

Bottle shared for breakfast by decaturstevo. Poured black with a tall creamy brown head that is lasting and left big chunky lace. Huge coffee and chocolate aroma. Truly a breakfast beer with lots of roast coffee in the flavor. Full body that is bitter sweet and smooth. A very great stout!!

Bottle compliments of acertain... Pours a dark black with a thin brown head. Smells like strong espresso....with a hint of alcohol and some chocolate ice cream. As someone who loves a good espresso and a good beer(I went to a bar that dropped shots of cold espresso in my Guiness for me in Europe), I’m really looking forward to tasting this. It does not dissapoint...Wonderful espresso flavor. Has a great sweetness to it. Reminds me of a mild "mexican hot chocolate"(with cinnamon in it) mixed with coffee and a stout. Thick beer with a soft finish.... Love it....pretty close to perfect for my tastes. I’ll be getting more of this in the future for sure.

Aroma of coffee and chocolate--but mostly roasted coffee. Deep black pour with a nice dark brown head. The palate is the fullest and creamiest I’ve had to date--incredibly smooth and creamy. Tons of coffee with hints of chocolate. Very full flavor--definitley not one to trifle with. Take your time sipping this one.
