Commercial Description:
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

Man, this is really really good. This is the best coffee-type stout i’ve ever had. Apperance is just perfect. Aroma is steeped coffee grounds, chocolate, and burnt bitterness. Flavor is rich, complex and coffee galore but still beerish. The palate is creamy and perfectly alcoholic.

Aroma is like someone dumped Hershey’s chocolate syrup into a cup of expresso, taste is rich chocolate mocha with a little bitterness in aftertaste. Agreed by my entire group, that it was the best beer we had the the Milwaukee Beer Baron’s festival. It made all the other stouts taste thin. So far Founder’s is my favorite newbrewery for 2005. Just wish I could find their Devil Dancer in Wisconsin

Rating #901... too bad this wasn’t #900. Bottle. Pours black with a small brown head. Coffee beans - nice rich and roasted - in the nose. Flavor is bitter coffee and chocolates... thick and oily. Delicious.

Thanks to Ron Bush for this gem. Pours a pitch black color with a small brownish beige head lacing. Aroma is FRESH coffee beans and a hint of dark rich chocolate. Flavor is a coffee lover’s delight. Fresh roasted coffee taste with dark rich chocolate flavor. Leaves a coffee aftertaste along with malt and chocolate. Doesnt get much better than this.

Strong roasted coffe liek aroma with hints of chocolate. This, black and beautiful with a large but quickly dissapatign head of dark brown. Mostly bitter coffee and chocolate flavours. The appearance of this beer is everything I could wish for, and it is backed by a great taste that I feel is only flawed in a lack of complexity.

Mmmmm good. Smells like fresh brewed coffee, chocolate and caramel. Flavors are big and bold, like the perfect cup of coffee. Silky smooth, and really good.

much thanks to loweredsixth for this wonderful brew.also before i rate i must say i love the label on this one.very artistic and humorous.ok,now for the rate.this stout poured a black body with a wonderful chocolate colored head.as the head simmered i saw some very nice lacing coating the duvel glass.i got loads of coffee in the aroma, followed by a little caramel.as for the first sip?you guessed it.....coffee!!!now i absoluely love coffe stouts so i was in heaven after the first sip.i could find a bit of caramel, and chocolate in the flavor if i looked real hard. either way this stout is delicious!!!!!

This beer is rich and tasty...wish I could drink it for breakfast every day! Black as night and thick tan lace. Big notes of roasted coffee and chocolate, can’t pick up any oatmeal though through all the coffee. Huge lingering finish for minutes. Cheers!!
