Full bodied, silky, very thick. Tastes like a cold, carbonated mocha with a touch of vanilla. Very sticky, aftertaste lingers. Amazing. It has the hearty feeling of a stout but a tinge of sweetness. I can’t believe such a small brewery in my college town could make such an exceptional brew! TRY IT! cdizinno (4), Gastonia, North Carolina, USA does not count | 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 24, 2009 ON TAP!. This beer is at least 10% better on tap. I would assume due to the freshness? Only a 4.5 or less in the bottle. If you get the opportunity to try it on tap, DON’T MISS IT!! Pours pitch black like used oil with a monsterous creamy brown head. The head is very slow to fade and a sticks to the glass the whole way down, leaving glorius lacing. The aroma is huge. From two feet away I can smell chocolate and roasted malt. As I get closer, I pick up big coffee notes, hints of ripe fruit, and oats. Creamy, thick, and viscous on the tongue. Oily and coating all the way down. The balance here is extraordinary. The palate is awash with chocolate, coffee, deeply roasted malt, oats, and a touch of dark fruit. A bitter chocolate taste lingers in the mouth. Heavy, rich and absolutely decadent! TimE (1364), Tokyo, Japan

Hot damn, piquant BBQ sauce, cocoa, salsa, chillis, dark chocolate hot sauce in the nose. This is the most amazing nose I have ever experienced on a beer. Big coffee mouth with salsa, negro mole, fire pit, caramel and dark chocolate notes. The finish is somewhere between jalepenos cracking over a firepit and a spoon full of cocoa being dumped into a cup of strong coffee, all with a lingering bitter finish. Out of this world.

| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Nov 29, 2004 Pours a huge thick oily mass with a dark tan, almost espresso crema head. The aroma just keeps the coffee analogy going; huge coffee, chocolate aroma. Simply stunning aroma. The flavor is equally huge, tons and tons of fresh coffee compliments the chococlate. Bitterness is pronounced and very nice combined with the coffee and chocolate flavors. The palate is thick and full with a moderately dry bitter finsih. An exceptional stout. Possible one of the best coffee/chocolate stouts I have ever had. Lots of times the coffee flavor can be off-putting but the way this one is put together it is incredibly enjoyable. clingman71 (261), Centerville, Ohio, USA

Aroma of coffee and cocoa. This is one amazing brew. Flavors of chocolate and coffee dominate, along with a malt roastiness, but develops a slight sweet creaminess also. AWESOME!!!!!
