Commercial Description:
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

XBF05: Black with a small tan head. Huge roasted coffee with a touch of chocolate aroma, wow forget drinking coffee, I’m going to drink this in the morning. Full bodied with an oily texture and average carbonation, starts and ends bitter.

On tap at the Armsby Abbey in Worcester. Dark and creamy with a medium tan head. Excellent, rich flavor, some coffee comes through. Top notch.

Huge coffee aroma with a bit of sweetness. Coal black color, minimal brown head. Flavor explodes with coffee and bittersweet chocolate with some roasted malt becoming more apparent as it warms. The flavors really work well together. Outstanding coffee stout.

Thanks Santa!! What a terrific stout with a lot going on with nothing overwhelming. The coffee and chocolate are there, but without beating you over the head. I’m not feeling verbose, but it looks great, smells great, tastes great!!

Pours a dark black color with a nice beige head. Huge wonderful chocolate aromas along with some roasted malts. Flavor is of chocolate mocha, roasted malt, coffee and a touch of vanilla. Nicely balanced as well. What a great stout!

12 oz bottle. Pours a thick opaque dark brown with a thin dark brown head that quickly dissipates to a collar.

The aroma is tons of bitter roasted (almost burnt) coffee with a touch of sweet creaminess.

The flavor is slightly sweet cream, some oak and a bitter (slightly acidic) coffee that pervades it throughout. It has a very crisp finish. The sweetness and the coffee are well balanced. The alcohol is well hidden but it sneaks up on you. The mouthfeel is medium to full and creamy.

Wow, this is nicely done! I’m just getting into coffee, so this is a treat.

This beer is like a Mexican knife fight. Don’t ask me why. This is possibly the best stout I’ve ever had, and one of the best beers period. Quality coffee flavor overwhelms, but that’s cool with me. Darkest, shiniest stout I’ve seen. I must disagree with many of the raters here by saying that I would never want to drink this in the morning. 8.3%?! No way!

Pretty smooth stuff. Had it at Jeff’s B-day bash ’05. Chocolate and coffee all over.
