Commercial Description:
Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

(bottle) hazy, orange-amber colour; small, lasting off white head; aroma of hops, citrus, resin; powerful hops taste; long bitter finish; well balanced with well hidden alcohol

Great aroma of very strong Cascade hops. Flavor is especially bitter and very alcoholic. It seems a lot heavier in hops and alcohol than other IPAs. As expected, some hints of citrus grapefruit and floral scent. Very good bitter taste, but also very strong tasting.

Wow. Bought this on a whim, will never look back. Great smell after opening the bottle, even had to sniff twice it smelled so good; very smooth going down, with a subtle kick, right at the end. Got a buzz on after two! Again, can’t get over the very smooth delivery.

Amber pour with a very creamy off-white head. Strong hoppy aroma with lots of character. Citrusy, grapefruit, very floral, and a decent amount of malts. You can tell this one is dry hopped because of the crisp hop taste and finish. Very nice!

A beautiful label gracing a very beautiful beer. Pours a hazy golden with a good head and sheets of lace. The aroma has a great mango and citrus hop thing going, then there is this gummy worm character to the aroma, I kind of like it. Flavor is of course nicely hoppy with some mango and grassy hop flavor, and plenty of bitterness. This is terribly well balanced by a nice malt backbone. It’s kind of straightforward in the same way that two hearted is.... and of course that’s not where the comparisons end.

Bottle from the Wine Merchant in Findlay, OH. Pours caramel brown with an off-white head. Lots of particulates here. Nose is caramel malt, grapefruit, and some floral hops. Flavor is caramel, grapefruit, some honey, and an enjoyable hop bite upon the finish. Nice hot day beer with balanced bitterness.

I guess I should rate this. Hard to believe uit hasnt been done until now. On tap at the brewpub 7/18/09. Pours a nice amber with a medium light tan head. Big notes of grapefruit and pine in the nose and flavor. Very crisp finish. Still a very good IPA.
