Commercial Description:
Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

Bottle. Clear, dark golden pour with a medium head. Big earthy/herbal hop aroma as well as some citrus. Similar flavor, lots of piney hops with a touch of sweetness. Not quite as well balanced as I’d like. Still, I love hops and this definitely has ’em!

Aroma: Lots of citrus in the nose, some pine/earth, some sugar in there too
Appearance: Hazy orange/golden color
Flavor: Drier and more earthy hops then the nose would have lead me to believe, a nice hop flavor on this one
Palate: Medium body, smooth
Overall Impression: I enjoyed this one, a really nice IPA, first sniff it was all citrus, but the taste is much drier and mostly piney hops. It works pretty well...

Bottle - This is just a great IPA. It has everything you want in a great IPA, so I won’t list them. Only improvements could be non-twist off bottle and a sharper finish.

12oz bottle from dmschefke, thanks Dave! Slightly hazy orangish color with a nice white head. Nice citrus hop aroma, very enjoyable. Decent mild hop flavor, not as upfront as I was expecting, but very good otherwise.

WOW! Killer IPA! Has a nice cloudy gold color. Smells of hops and citrus with a little bit of floral scents. Taste is intense with hops and a little bit of malts. A great brew. Founders is starting to show me that they might belong with the likes of dogfish head and certain others.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep, amber/golden brown with a two-finger off-white, almost tan head. Sweet, floral hop flavor with hints of grapefruit citrus. Great, hop mouthful with a hint of citrus that lingers along with some a late-comer malt flavor. A very good IPA, the best I’ve had in a while, although certainly not the best I’ve ever had.

This is a pretty decent IPA. It poured a caramel gold color with a medium-light head that dissipated after a short while. In fact, 2/3 of the way in to the beer, It still has a bit of the head left. Never the less, it has very piny aroma, not too much citrus at all. It tastes on the bitter side, with a much stronger pine taste than I am accustomed to. I enjoy this beer quite a bit. I would try it again, for sure!
