Commercial Description:
Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

bottle. Pours a dark, flat amber color with a pretty small, unimpressive head that clears quickly. Weak on the nose, aromas of dry grapefruit and some toasted caramel. Flavor improves some... sharp grapefruit, medium bitterness, and a fair amount of smooth toasted caramel malt notes. Palate is clean, though a bit watery. Overall, a relatively non-impressive IPA.

On tap at brewery. Aroma of flowers, resin , citrus, caramel. Medium amber orange hue with an average sized white head that mostly diminished and left good lace. Flavor is citrus and piny hops. Some caramel and finishes nice and bitter. Palate is medium bodied and full of crispy bitters. Fantastic IPA, great flavors and fantastic punch.

bottle- nice sticky hops backed by a substantial caramel malt flavor- as well balanced and drinkable an IPA that I have had. Delicious.

12 oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy orange amber with a medium white head. Aromas of grapefruit hops, a little spice, a small hint of caramel. Flavor is grapefruit, piney hops, again a hint of caramel. Nice bitterness. A good IPA.

Bottle. Amber body, PNW hop nose, medium white nose. Crystal malts and C-hops, your basic US IPA. Nicely done.

12oz. Pours hazy (go unfiltered!) orange/amber with an off-white head. Aroma is a candied hop bomb and the flavor follows wonderfully. Rather complex body of citrus, stone fruits, caramel, slightly creamy coconut thing, with a fair bit of sweetness. Perfectly executed carbonation with an off-dry finish. Very tasty stuff.

THOUGHTS: One of the few great IPAs I’ve had the pleasure of trying. It’s right up there with Green Flash West Coast IPA. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a medium to dark ambery orange with a small, off-white head that mostly diminished but left fair lacing. The aroma was light to moderate caramel malt, moderate to heavy citrus (more orange, but also grapefruit) hops and something else like sweet oranges. The initial flavor was moderately sweet, and lightly acidic and bitter; while the finish was moderately sweet, lightly acidic and moderate to heavily bitter with a long duration. There was caramel malt, orange and some grapefruit hops all in perfect balance with each other. The medium body was syrupy with fizzy carbonation and a metallic and light alcoholic finish.

Pours a very cloudy dirty dark orange. Minimal head with a few bubbles of lacing. Nose- hop perfume from the fragrant centennials and cadied caramel sweetness. Taste- caramel and cookie malth, woody hops with a some citrus. finishes with a bitter zip of the C hop. Carbonation is medium and so is the body. Has some soapy, aspirin like aftertaste. Nice IPA.
