Commercial Description:
Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

THOUGHTS: One of the few great IPAs I’ve had the pleasure of trying. It’s right up there with Green Flash West Coast IPA. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a medium to dark ambery orange with a small, off-white head that mostly diminished but left fair lacing. The aroma was light to moderate caramel malt, moderate to heavy citrus (more orange, but also grapefruit) hops and something else like sweet oranges. The initial flavor was moderately sweet, and lightly acidic and bitter; while the finish was moderately sweet, lightly acidic and moderate to heavily bitter with a long duration. There was caramel malt, orange and some grapefruit hops all in perfect balance with each other. The medium body was syrupy with fizzy carbonation and a metallic and light alcoholic finish.

Pours a very cloudy dirty dark orange. Minimal head with a few bubbles of lacing. Nose- hop perfume from the fragrant centennials and cadied caramel sweetness. Taste- caramel and cookie malth, woody hops with a some citrus. finishes with a bitter zip of the C hop. Carbonation is medium and so is the body. Has some soapy, aspirin like aftertaste. Nice IPA.

12 oz bottle. Poured a hazy golden color with a thick foamy head. Excellent lacing. Aroma was a pine citrus scent, very grapefruity. Flavor was perfectly hoppy, very bitter, with some pine and citrus notes. Overall an excellent IPA.

12 oz. bottle - thanks to kryptic for the trade; pours clear, darkish orange with spotty white head; grassy, sweet grainy hop aromas; crisp and pretty bitter; damn yummy though and cruised by my homebrew centennial IPA with flying colors; 2nd glass more cloudy; very drinkable, bitter, smooth IPA; sweet finish

Bottle. Dark hazy amber with a small unimpressive head. The head is the only reason I bumped the appearance to a 3. Aroma is floral and earthy hops with some mild citrus and good balancing malt. The flavor is bittersweet but it fades quickly not lingering on the back of the tongue. Otherwise smooth and a nice IPA,

Lakewood, Oh. - Rozi’s Wine and Liquor House - 12 oz bottle. Overall, a very good solid hoppy IPA. Grapefruit-like, citrusy aroma with good sprucey notes. Copper color appearance with an off-white frothy thick head with a lot of lacing. Hoppy flavor is prominent and balanced quite well - moreso than some other big west coasts IPAs. Stays strong to the finish - taste bud numbing like a good IPA should.
