Fair balance in the aroma with some caramel and toffee to offset the grapefruit and pine. Medium-bodied. Better balance taste-wise than I had anticipated too. Roasty malts and sweet caramel start things off. There is a quick transition to bitter grapefruits and resiny pine. It all ends with a dryness that lingers. Weedking4 (33), Stratford, Ontario, Canada

And I have to say, this is not the same beer I had in Detroit back in July. It was bottled in the end of August, but its a clear amber colour. Not hazy or orange or unfiltered at all. What a disappointment. I was so looking forward to this again. My previous bottles had no bottled date on them, so they must have been at least 6+ months old. These are less then a month, and it tastes identical to Southern Tier IPA. Which is a decent beer, but its an average IPA. Big disappointment on this one. awiseman01 (366), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 31, 2009 1/2 a shared 12oz. bottle. Pours golden, amber mix. Nose is fresh piney, sweet malt. Taste is crisp, fizzy, dry, slightly roasted malt, burnt caramel. There is a rough floral, hoppy, alcohol mix of tastes as well. Overall this IPA is a little too dry and burnt for me. The hops are definitely there, but the overall complexion is not that great. Rough aftertaste.
Possible I got a not so fresh bottle. I remember liking it more last time I tried it. rawhydes1 (3), , Pennsylvania, USA does not count | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 31, 2009 citrus and floral, molasses malty acrid finish. too floral and malty for an elite IPA FROTHINGSLOSH (2025), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 30, 2009 Sampled on draft at the Sharp Edge Beer Emporium this beer poured a vibrant orange-amber color with a medium sized soapy white head that faded quickly. The aroma was strongly full of fruity, floral and peppery hop and was somewhat sweet. The flavor was very bitter, sharp and had a strong piney and floral hop character. Rather dry and only faintly malty. The hops really dominate. The finish was medium length floral hops. Medium body. Decent. brigg (216), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Aroma of strong pine and citrus hops, lemon, orange, light sweet malt, and floral notes. Flavor is slightly sweet caramel, but quickly dries out for very bitter hop bite; strong aftertaste. Medium to full bodied, creamy. kiefdog (1624), Tampa, Florida, USA
