Pours a hazy golden with a good head and sheets of lace. The aroma has a great mango and citrus hop thing going, then there is this gummy worm character to the aroma, I kind of like it. Flavor is of course nicely hoppy with some mango and grassy hop flavor, and plenty of bitterness. This is terribly well balanced by a nice malt backbone. It’s kind of straightforward in the same way that two hearted is.... and of course that’s not where the comparisons end. markwise (1186), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA

Lots of particulates here. Nose is caramel malt, grapefruit, and some floral hops. Flavor is caramel, grapefruit, some honey, and an enjoyable hop bite upon the finish. Nice hot day beer with balanced bitterness. guyinchicago (528), marengo, Illinois, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 15, 2009 I’m just getting acquainted with these michigan microbrews, I never had a clue but there’s some pretty good shit up there. I was told by dude at the store that Founders "blows Bell’s out of the water", but as far as the IPAs go I would have to disagree. Don’t get me wrong though, Founders Centennial is good. It’s quite good. But Bell’s Two Hearted was excellent, and definitely a step up from this guy. This one is a little less hoppy than I like, but it is strong and tasty. Some IPAs just taste like hops and don’t have much character, but this is not one of those. The color is medium-dark and a little murky for an IPA, it’s beautiful. Smell and mouthfeel are pretty typical for an IPA. For the price, I’d prefer a Stone or a Bell’s, but it’s definitely not a waste. It’s a fucking solid high-end IPA alagnak (356), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 10, 2009 12 oz btl from theisti - Nice IPA - has intial flavor of classic IPA bitter grapefruit, and then a really interesting anise/black licorice thing going on. Really tasty and pretty unique in a crowded style. Thanks, TIm. BillWyce (95), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 10, 2009 Hazy orange-amber with a bone-white head. Aroma of citrusy hops. Very smooth. Taste is solid hoppiness, as you’d expect from an IPA. Blooms on the tongue after swallowing. Very good example of the style.
