Amber color pour with red leanings and a light haze. The aroma does not give you much of a pre-taste. You get some cherry and the usual medicinal notes that I feel always accompany these brews. However, I think people are giving this a bad rap. I enjoy it. It is one of the least offensively medicinal cherry brews I’ve had in recent memory. The cloying cherry sweetness is only present at the very beginning and immediately mellows to a tolerable level. At no point am I demanded to think if this as a Luddens cough drop (though ALL cherry beer leans that way in my opinion). There is some harsh alcohol if you ask me and the medicinal note does creep in there but again is not overpowering. There are touches of other sugars and perhaps even a woodish note (though that may be stretching) but it is straight forward. If you like a cherry brew, this seems like a good one to me. mistersinalin (378), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA

Both are sweet, but the beer doesn’t have any character. I like the idea, but not the execution. Call me when you’ve smoothed it out. Too expensive otherwise. Goblincat (357), Westland, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 16, 2009 Pours pinkish orange. Light fruit and hint of hops nose. The taste is different... Kind of a watered down cherry pie filling syrup with carbonation. A bit odd, but good at the same time. This would make an for a good liquid dessert on occasion. tedovertu (260), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 7, 2009 12 oz bottle: Rose colored body w/ a lasting light off pinkish white head. Aroma after it warms is sour cherry pie and fresh crushed malt. Toasty after it warms. Also a bit perfumey. Taste is much the same, but it has a bit of an herbal hop flavor mid palate into the dry finish. A bit tart/acidic, makes it refreshing. Cherry throughout, but not over the top... You can still tell this is a beer for the most part. Warming, and a bit astringent in the mouth mostly due to the acidity. Lighter medium body, medium CO2. Not bad.. Still not a huge fan of fruit beers, but as far as they go, this is a solid beer. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Aug 6, 2009 Loved the cherry on this one. It didn’t taste like candy artificial cherry flavoring you get from a jolly rancher, it tasted like a biting into a fresh ripe michigan cherry. like an orgasm in your mouth. not syrupy at all, fresh and light. wonderful use of fruit here.
