Although those cherries are slightly tart this is a sweet beer. It is very easy to drink and the listed ABV is a surprise. Just a small step beyond wine cooler-dom. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 2, 2009 Extremely enjoyable fruit ale. The color has pink/mauve notes but still looks like beer. There’s a slight tartness, a moderate to light sweetness, a sparkling quality with medium carbonation and body, and the cherry comes out authentically, not artificially. It could be more tart and a titch more vibrant for flavors (more wood perhaps? more funk? more something) but it is very--extremely--drinkable and plenty sophisticated enough to distinguish it from the imposters in the fruit beer world. csbosox (1082), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 1, 2009 12oz bottle. Aroma is fragrant sour cherries. Reddish/pink color with excellent clarity. Taste is tart cherries with some sweetness provided by the malt bill. The finish is tart with lingering cherry flavors. Nice body, but the balance is towards the tart in the finish, which is nice. While not quite the equal, as far as fruit flavors go, of the Belgian Red, this is a well made fruit beer weighing in at an uncharacteristically 6.5%. I don’t find it cloying in the least bit. topherh (940), Kearney, Missouri, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 30, 2009 Pour from bottle. Nice orange-ish pink color. Sweet aromas of cheery sweet tarts. Flavor was very sweet up front, but a light sweetness. Cherries and oranges. Finish was tart and slightly sour. Pretty well done, actually, and drinkable for a fruit beer. BigBang (213), Indiana, USA

Has a slight sour pop to it but starts sweet. Tried on tap. Liked it but a little goes along way. BVery (550), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA
