Papsoe (10359), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 26, 2008 (Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of boboski. Pours a hazy amber golden with a creamy, beige head. Fat and fruity, syrupy nose. Quite full-bodied, low in carbonation, fruity and herbal and very interesting. Very alcoholic finish. Thanks for this odd beast bobo. 190408
General_Gao (2575), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Sep 25, 2008 Bottle shared at tasting. Poured a murky brown color with orange highlights. The head was light tan with an orange tint. Lots of fruit in the nose including mango, pineapple, and orange. There was also plenty of caramel, nuts, and alcohol. Full bodied and slightly sweet with caramel, toffee, and pineapple flavors. Kind of like a big malty/fruity double IPA without any hop bitterness. 17thfloor (728), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 24, 2008 Pours a murky dark reddish brown with a big thick fluffy beige froth on top, looks awesome! Big oily floral hop aroma, cardamom with lots of rich oxidized toasted caramel malt and some light spices. First taste is burnt bitter followed by sugary sweetness, light brown sugar and lots of vegetable. Lots of sugar that covers the alcohol well but doesn’t really add anything itself. Burnt vegetable aftertaste. Heavy body, syrupy with soft carbonation. This is a BIG beer. Thomas_E (5065), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 5, 2008 Deep amber colour with an off white head. malty, caramel sweet aroma with some yeasty and spicy notes. malty, toffee sweet flavor with hoppy notes. nbutler11 (215), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 5, 2008 Aged over a year in the bottle. Poured dark amber with a thick, near-yellow, head of foam. Loaded with spices on the nose. Caramel, black tea, vanilla, cinnamon, and a bit of cream in the flavor. Mildly carbonated with a suprisingly heavy body. Deliciously sweet. Illini08 (519), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jul 28, 2008 Sampled at the Carolina Crew tasting in Greenville - thanks to whoever brought this! Was informed that this was aged about a year. Reddish pour with a small head. Malty and sweet aroma with a hint of spices in there. Orange peel and other spice flavors I couldn’t quite put my finger on meshed nicely with the aged malt. Smooth drinking, although a bit of a hot finish. Really enjoyed drinking this.
