| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 14, 2009 12 oz bottle served in a tulip glass. Pour was a burnt orange without any head at all. Nose is hops, malts, rosemary, oranges, light caramel, and light dried barley. Taste is a bitter that borders on poisonous, yet enjoyable on some level, malt, pine tar, and a sweet citrus that lingers into the finish. This is such an intense brew, with certain favors bearing down like a freight train, yet disturbingly enjoyable. As a side note, I can’t believe this is 12% ABV.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 6, 2009 This stuff is real thick. Pours a viscous red brown with lots of haze and a thin white head. Caramel malt aroma with lots of grain. Thick floral and pine hops. Sweet nutty malt flavor. Quickly finishes with tons of hops. Very heavy but good. Meatmallet (125), Salem, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 5, 2009 Appearance: Hazy deep copper color with a thin off white head.
Smell: Very good you can smell the bitter hops right away. Grapefruit and floral hops with lots of malt and some honey.
Taste: Sweet and bitter at the same time. The first sip brings quite a bit of warming. Lots of sweet caramel malt and hop flavor.
Mouthfeel/drinkability: Has a great aftertaste. The bitter hops stick to the tongue quite a long time. Light carbonation and a medium body.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 1, 2009 For the times when you say ’I want a little complexity with my wicked buzz’. Smells like candied peaches, cured meats and alcohol. Flavor has great sweet alcohol bite that you yearn for on a cold night. Like rum cake made with cheap rum and pit fruits. The hops come at the finish with a rush of bitterness at the end that lingers awhile. Hits the spot for a very specific niche but is very hot to handle. Thank You Founders. 12 oz. fidelis83 (725), Clinton, Iowa, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 1, 2009 Pours a murky bruised peach-amber with a thin, creamy light beige head. Aroma is huge caramel, lots of citrus hops, light woodiness, a hint of berry candy, light toasted granola and sweet hay. As it warms more ethanol, caramel and light fruity notes come out. Flavor is dark caramel, toasted granola, a hint of honey, a nice bright pine note - like somebody put the whole tree through a chipper and made a beer with it - seems very fresh and lightly woody, ethanol, light toffee, a touch of mango, roasted nuts. As it warms more ethanol, some floral honey and lighter citrus notes come out. Finishes with lightly bitter citrus, pine, some grassiness a hint of wood and a sweet caramel, toffee, tropical fruit salad backbone. Palate is creamy on entry, lightly carbonated and still fairly creamy to the finish, slightly sticky and oily on the lips, it fits the profile wonerfully. This stuff is pretty amazing, I really wish it was a little more fresh, I don’t know how old this is exactly but I would imagine it would be even more amazing right out of the bottling line. yinzerbeernut (58), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 14, 2009 A red, deep amber hazy color with a small white head. Light smokey hop scent accented with caramel and malt sweetness and a touch of alcohol. Robust medium bodied mouthfeel with big hop flavor and plenty of malt for balance. The finish is crisp, hoppy, and short to average in length with a touch of alcohol hidden away. fidel (945), Livermore, California, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 5, 2009 bottle shared with maniac. Semi-clear reddish amber with small tan thin head. Nose is massive sweet maltiness and slight cherries. Amazing job of hiding the abv. After a year of age, this has mellowed nicely.
