Full-on hoppy and citric aroma, green and fresh, full of grapefruit and pine with a mild degree of honeyish, very lightly toasty and sweet malts, some barely detectable alcohol emerging as it warms. Lightly hazy medium golden color with a very fine, subsiding head. Flavor is very hoppy indeed, but not overwhelmingly so, with more citrus fruit and light touches of honeyish, caramel sweetness, including pineapple, grapefruit, spice and flowers, drying out substantially by the finish, which shows a brief hint of peppery alcohol late. Resinous, smooth, oily, warming palate, low to moderate amount of carbonation, body is quite substantial as befits the style. Pretty tasty. Hop jones satiated. blipp (1751), Newark, New Jersey, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 15, 2009 On tap at Capone’s 8/15/09. Pours a thick yellow orange, nice very bubbly egg-shell head. Amazing pine aroma hits the nose first, with slight undertones of lavender and honey. Taste is just a very minor vanilla sweetness, then bam! A huge bitterness builds on the tongue and leaves a long finish. Definitely a great IIPA that hides the ABV well. Easily up there as a world-class IIPA. jerc (3954), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
