| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 16, 2009 Hazy amber with hops suspended and thin off-white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel, orange and mild alcohol. Taste of grapefruit, orange, crystal malt with mild lemon and alcohol. Has a sort of pulp laden fruit juice consistency to it and finished up mildly bitter. Good but a notch below the standard for the style, especially it’s bigger brother Devil Dancer. Poured a hazy light golden color with a medium sized white head. The nose is pleasently hoppy with caramel and grass notes. medium bodied, great carbonation. Flavor is slightly sweet citrus, caramel, and pine. Finishes sweet with mild hops bitterness. Very nice IPA. GriffinAvenue (396), Winchester, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jun 15, 2009 Bottle. Lemon coloring. Clear. 1/2" head with visible and active carbonation. Noticeably citrusy in aroma, like a pungent graprefruit. Tangy and hoppy to the tongue that gives way to fruity notes, esp apricot-like finish. Medium body and evenly balanced throughout. Love the kick on top and this is a clear new favorite for me, a rival to Bells Hopslam for my affections. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 14, 2009 Unfiltered, hazed grapefruit colored body with a white head. Lovely appearance. Crystalline/candied sugars and tropical fruit in the nose. Pineapple is a little catty, but body and texture give a juicy presentation. Sharp, biting, then oily/filmy/smooth (even) in the finish. Rich, chewy, well-mashed, proper fullness. Lovely stuff. Naven (876), Poway, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 11, 2009 Whoa. Really nice hazy Amber color. Super fruity, hoppy nose. Big and bold flavor, but totally drinkable. Citrus for days. I don’t get a chance to try many IPA’s from other parts of the country. This is as good as anything from California. Brilliant clear golden-orange color with a medium white head. Awesome citrusy hop aroma with sweet malt and a little alcohol. Flavor is lots of sweet pale and caramel malt, balanced with lots of citrusy, resinous hops. Lots of grapefruity notes. Palate fairly full with a long, sticky hop finish. A great DIPA.
