Bottle. Hazy golden body with a short white head. Aroma is strong citrus peel, big hops and hop oils and a slightly sweet malt note. Taste is spicy and floral hops, big citrus notes, orange peel, light malt notes, hop resins and grapefruit juice. Body is medium to medium-full with a moderately strong carbonation. Oily in spots. Aspirin-like bitterness lingers throughout. Ends with more hop resins, citrus peel, grapefruit juice, and soft sweet malt. Spicy hops come through here as well. Very tasty and the 9.4% ABV is nowhere to be found.

Courtesy fantomas23. Pours a lightly hazy, golden orange color with a small, foamy off white head that shows good retention. The aroma shows bitter orange and grapefruit hops on top of a sweet, toffee malt base. The flavor follows with more orange and grapefruit citrus to go with some floral hops and balanced out by the toffee malt backbone. The alcohol comes through a bit as well especially as it warms up. Full bodied with good carbonation and lengthy bitter finish with some alcohol warmth. I tried this next to a hopslam, and I much prefer the hopslam. Still a pretty good double ipa.

Thanks bigtime to WakeandBake (Benny) Pour is clear golden copper with an off white head with decent lacing. Aroma is floral hops dominate with some citrus and pine. Flavor is powerful bitter that lingers. Palate is spicy, kinda rough, slightly metallic, but good. Overall is solid but would like to taste fresh since it is a DIPA.

Pours a golden orange-like colour with a large, creamy white head. Smells of hops, citrus, and pine. Flavour is very hoppy with pine and citrus accents. Adrian says there are some grassy notes so I’ll take his word for it. Moderate carbonation. Reminiscent of Bells Hopslam but not as good.

Bottle. Bottled: 02/09/09. Pours a hazy straw color with a skim of an antique white head. Spicy aroma that features plenty of grapefruits, juicy oranges and their rinds, pine needles, alcohol, pepper, vanilla, and some caramel. Full-bodied, smooth, and just a touch syrupy. Flavor starts with a bit of caramel and vanilla and quickly progresses to loads of sweet oranges and then bitter grapefruits. A very drying, peppery finish. Some warming alcohol is present throughout. Excellent!
