Pours a cloudy golden amber with a thick but short foamy white head that leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is a lot of hops, pine, and, citric fruit; mango, pineapple, and grapefruit. The sweet maltiness in there too, goes well with the fruit. Flavor is nice and bitter throughout, with strong pineapple at first, fading into grapefruit. Bitterness lingers a little a finishes this one quite well. Really quite impressed with this number, as I have been with all the Founders I’ve tried.

On tap at The Drafting Room’s Hopfest (Spring House, PA). Hops more subdued than other raters describe. Wonderful floral taste, like jasmine flowers, in front of the hop bitterness, which was well balanced. High ABV was hard to detect from the palate, but I’m sure it’s there. A delicious beer and an excellent brew.

Hazy pale orange, decent but small head. Aroma is slightly gummy malts and loads of hops, primarily showing pineapple and pine notes. Sticky on the palate, a touch sweet. More pineapple and pine, with a touch of anise on the long, quite bitter finish. Highly enjoyable.

Double IPA is absolutely my favorite style and this beer delivers with a full hop assault. Grapefruit and pine with a great mouthfeel and slightly sweet malt finish to provide balance. Delicious!

Bottle. Fairly extreme DIPA. Pours lighter than most DIPA. Less sweet than expected, very bitter in your face hops. Beer changes character with temperature quite a bit, sweeter when warmer before it becomes boozy.

12oz. pours clear and golden with small white head. aroma is mildly pine and some earthiness. Flavor is dominated by some pine hops but it is not huge or over the top. has a rather crisp finish and doesn’t linger very long. This DIPA is a hop experience but not a hop bomb...

Man, what a beer! The aroma is like sticking yer schnoz in a pile of pine branches. Great foamy, frothy, head and lots of lace. Color is a lovely shade of light amber. Flavor is very earthy chewy malt base with lots o hop. Great burps. Don’t notice the alcohol till later. Nice hoppy and even a bit sweet finish. This beer is a work of (beer f)art.
