Mar 6, 2009 Dark and slightly cloudy orange color with a thin head. Strong floral hop aroma, light orange and some caramel malt. Most a strong, bitter and acidic taste. Not a lot of hop flavor, more like evidence of a lot of hops. A little floral on the end. Some biscuit and toasted malt. Well balanced, hides the alcohol well. Enjoyable.

Mar 6, 2009 Pours a slightly cloudy goldenrod..hehe. MInimal lacing with a nice staying foam. Smells like it’s going to taste great. Subtle pine, citrus and fair smell of alcohol.Drinks with flavors of caramel coated grapefruit and a bitter flavor to overcome the alcohol. Overall a pretty nice but potent brew. More enjoyable then then the 99+ ibu IPA’s.

Mar 6, 2009 Bottle: Poured a hazy orange with a light head. Aroma is piney, citrus, and hops. Taste follows that with a citrus fruit and pine hops flavor. Very enjoyable!

Mar 5, 2009 12oz via trade with BBB63, wow this got a whole lot of ratings quick. Shared with dalekliz and my girlfriend Cyn Pours orange with a bright white head. Nose is fantastic really big hops and pine and citrus. Taste is sweet, and rich with notes of grapefruit, and lots of pine. I like this a lot, this is another big time winner from Founders.

Mar 4, 2009 This one is kind of hard to place. Four a double IPA, it really isn’t all that hoppy. There’s no harshness, no resinous hop aroma or flavor, no sticky malt sweetness.
Instead, this smells, tastes, and drinks like a moderately hoppy IPA. The malt is full enough to support the hops, but it’s actually a little on the dry side. The hops are black pepper and sweet orange, not the normal huge pine or grapefruit. The bitterness is firm, but not harsh or aggressive. This is just too easy drinking for the style, but I really dig the beer.

Mar 4, 2009 Foggy yellow/orange pour with a light head that dissipates quickly. Very hoppy aroma with several different types of hops apparent on the nose. Mouthfeel is slightly grainy with an almost filmy feel. Hops are present all throughout the drink and is somewhat spicy. The finish is not as bitter as one would expect, nor as dry. As far as Impy IPAs go, this isn’t bad.

Mar 4, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a crystal clear deep golden color. Head was 2 fingers thick and off white in color. Nose of pine cones and maple syrup. Flavor is Full of bitter hops, sweet malts and a touch of booze. A great IIPA from Founders.
