However, the hoppiness was huge, almost too much for my palate. In fact, I’m sure this was above the threshold which my palate could discern.

I had to pass it around to two other people to make sure I wasn’t just imagining things, but this beer smelled like straight marijuana. Although that particular smell did dissipate as I drank more, it was still funny. The taste was really good with grapefruit notes as the most notable taste. Definite hop kick and a smooth, bitter finish. Great beer NoiZe (1357), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands

Aroma and taste of apples and spices with a mild hoppy finish. Very nice IPA. ljay6880 (143), , Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 7, 2009 12 oz bottle served in a tulip. Pour was a cloudy golden yellow with 1/2 a finger of off white head. Nose was doughy malt, caramel, a touch of grape fruit, and an overpowering smack of bitter hops. Taste is bitter hops, caramel, malt and grape fruit. Normally I love Double IPAs because of the big malty sweet citrus that is so common of the style. This brew, however, does not mesh quite the same. The sugar is there, but it doesn’t compliment the bitterness to make a pleasant taste. Rather, hoppy bitterness smacks the taste buds while the sugar swims around the mouth, almost as a separate entity. One note though, the warmer it got, it was more balanced it became. Still, this one is not for me as I enjoy my IPAs at about 35-40 degrees, rather than 55-60 which would make me rate the beer a bit higher. omhper (12229), Stockholm, Sweden
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Bottled at Sorbon, Stockholm. Lightly hazy golden, rch creamy head. Bready lychee aroma. Sweet and full bodied with dense, ompact mouthfeel. Doughy malt overrun by soapy lychee and grapefrut hops. Nothing subtle about it - this is a mcho beer, but in the sense of being overly aggressive, just very powerful and self confident. Massively bitter, but non-assaulting finish. Among the best of it’s kind! Maria (6265), Thisted, Denmark

The aroma is hoppy with notes of fruit, spruce, citrus and caramel. The flavor is light to moderately sweet with notes of fruity hops, mango, spruce, papaya. Citrus, malt and caramel. It’s a really nice beer with a dry bitterness in the finish. Frovigalning (449), , Sweden

Nice and cloudy orange color. The foam was white and compact.
The aroma was sweet and wonderfully fruity, especially pineapple. Also some grass and raisins.
First sip was heavily bitter, the beer had glorious amounts of hops. Nice balance and smooth to drink. A lot of grapefruits and pineapple in the taste. Some nuts in the bitter aftertaste. The body was medium, good carbonation. Sympathetic beer.
