LiebeBier (736), RIchmond, Virginia, USA Feb 7, 2005 This beer was average. A fairly bland flavor with little to no carbonation. Old perhaps?
whaleman (2168), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 26, 2005 Hazy, bright copper body with a white head. Aroma of biscuits and burnt caramel. Well-toasted bread crusts in the flavor plus some toasted nuts and very woody hop flavor and bitterness. A decent American-made rendition of an altbier. Founders Restaurant’s most palatable offering during my visit, which happened to be in the 11th hour before they closed their doors for good.
Nuffield (2536), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Sep 11, 2005 There’s something a bit toasty in addition to something vegetal and a little caramel tot he aroma. Glowing amber/red, some off-white head. Smoother, sticky body, making for a more interesting mouthfeel (I’ve had a number of alts lately). Pretty decent among alts from recent brewpub visits. (on tap at brewpub) blank (999), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jun 6, 2005 a pretty solid alt. Good color. A nice earthy malt flavor. Middle of the road with just a trace of bitter ness. very drinkable Wakie (612), Centreville, Virginia, USA Jun 5, 2005 A cheery little guy with some light sweetness and just a hint of hops. Personally I would have prefered it a bit more syrupy but to each his own. argo0 (6145), Washington DC, USA May 22, 2005 Clear copper body with an off-white head, nice lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, some earthiness. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, some earthy bitterness. Light-medium body with good crispness. Very nice beer, not complex but possesses a nice balance of malt and hops.
