stefanje (392), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA May 15, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of Schroppfy. Pours a cloudy orange color with a big white clumpy head that lasts a long time. The aroma is rich with citrus, white pepper and a bit of bready hops. The flavor is smooth and a bit biter with flavors of walnuts, caramel and mild spices. The mouthfeel is full and malty. The finish is long and dry with lingering biter hops and caramel. Overall: This is a superb APA. Highly recommended. Boutip (1648), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada May 6, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Plucier: Poured a cloudy hazy golden color ale with a huge white foamy head with perfect retention and no lacing. Aroma of bitter and citrus hops with some interesting floral notes. Taste is a mix between some floral hops notes with a bitter and citrus finish with some malt presence. Full body with limited filtration and good carbonation. Another fine ale from a brewer who consistently amaze me. Lothore (207), California, USA Apr 26, 2008 A- Pours a golden orange with a very small head and quite a bit of visible carbonation.
S- Smell is sweet malt, piney hops, hints of citrusey grapefruit.
T- Taste is very non abrasive, starts off sweet and malty, has a sharp middle and ends with a slight hop bitterness. The malt overrides the hops in this one but you are left with a nice hop finish.
M- Medium viscosity, ample carbonation, crisp.
D- This could be an easy session beer. This is the second beer i’ve had from founders and the second one I enjoyed. patrick767 (1312), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Apr 25, 2008 bottle - Pours cloudy gold with a one finger white head. It has a good citrus hop aroma. The flavor is of caramel malt and aggressive, well balanced, citrus and pine accented hops. This medium bodied brews neds in a lingering hops finish. Good quaff. hopdog (4201), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 23, 2008 12oz bottle acquired in trade with ogglethorp (thanks!). Initially poured a medium and clear golden color with a larger sized off white head. Towards the middle and especially the bottom, it grew hazier and deeper with lots of suspended floaters. Initial appearance would have been a 3 but I’ll rate on the later. Aromas of citrus, toasted malts, and lightly floral. Tastes of citrus, caramel, and fruity. Some lacing left on the glass.
