Aroma is a bit chocolate character with maple syrup. Hints of toffee and caramel make up this big malt nose. Flavor starts with a sharp coffee and cocoa bean kick. Gains a creamy nuttiness and a sharp brooding coffee and earthy hop bitterness returns in the finish and lingers along with a small burnt chocolate sweetness. Medium to full body. Nice imperial stout but not the best of the best vtafro (475), , New Jersey, USA

An excellent Imperial stout, not much to say that was extraordinary, but nothing I can knock it for either. A very good beer. matt7215 (967), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 29, 2009 Deep black beer with a thick sticky very dark brown head. The aroma is really nice, rich milk chocolate, a bit of bittersweet character as well. Quite rich with a bit of wheaty spiciness in the back as well. It is quite intense and rich. Sweet deep malty finish. A touch of roasted barley and a touch of savoury slightly salty richness. Great balance with a nice earthy bitterness and a lingering fudgey chocolate sweetness as well. Great imperial stout.
