Black as can be, with a small dark brown head. Roasted sweet malt taste with some dark fruit, full body, a very sweet malt flavor that lingers on the palate. Can definitely taste the alcohol, will warm you on a cold winters day. A robust full flavored stout with a strong presence of alcohol..very nice.

(bottle) Deep black with essentially no head, but does have scant lace. Aroma of darkly roasted malt with some coffee. Flavor is a bit sweet with raisins/dark fruits, some coffee and a hint of chocolate.

Bottle. Pours a dark black with a thin tan head, leaving a nice amount of quickly dissipating lacing on the glass. The aroma is full of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee. The flavor is rich. An initial alcohol burn blends into coffee and chocolate. Tremendous beer!

Intense roastiness...coffee, bitter chocolate, espresso grounds, molasses, dates, raisins, burnt brown sugar, a touch of alcohol burn on the way down, and a big smile on my face. What a huge brew! So very good!

Thinner I.S. Roasted barley? Coffee. Toffee. Sweet, sticky roasted something at the back of the tongue. I like this. Yummy. A good finisher, but would prefer splitting/sharing a bottle in a snifter. Sweet, but bitter finishing chocolate. ?Is this a stereotypical stout? Think not. Very, very good. Now just somebody tell me how I can get a !#$^%^$#! Devil Dancer?!?!?!?

perfect looking black appearance with thick dark tan head. the aroma is dark roasted coffee and dark chocolate, with some hints of toffee and carmel. the flavors are much the same with a thick mouthfeel. needs a little age or something to mellow the intensity. good though.

Bottle. What is with these Michigan brewers and stouts? They completely own the catagory and this is no exception. Pours black as midnight with a silky brown head with amber highlights that fades to a thin film. Aromas of chocolate, molasses, and brown sugar. Taste follows with hints of charcoal and traces of coffee. Finishes with a small alcohol burn. A complex and damn fine beer.

WOW! What a good beer. Pours deep black with a faint tan head that fades away within a minute. Sort of dry and bitter, which isn’t bad. Coffee aroma and taste and a good 10% punch. A very very nice nectar.
