Black. Small, creamy, brown head slowly dissipates. Aroms of bittersweet dark chocolate, burnt roasty malt, coffee, herbal licorice, pine trees, marshmallows, poison, and subtle alcohol. Flavor adds milk chocolate, root beer barrels, caramel, and a bit of ash. Full/medium, smooth palate. Body could be a little heavier, other than that, an excellent brew.

12oz - Aroma is almost fruity (raspberry, blueberry, or cherry) chocolate, and roasted malts. Pours deep black with a small brown head and good lacing. Flavor is much more roasty than aroma. Toasted dark malts take the lead and provide a great chocolate flavor. Palate is sticky. This is a tasty brew but does not stand out amongst it’s peers in my opinion.

From 12oz Bottle. Now that is a deep black motor oil pour, almost like thick sludge oozing out of the bottle. Medium, lasting, fizzy head of smoked lake trout skin. Rich, chocolatey aromas are dried by some french roast coffee. A nice, minty whiff of hops flows from my glass as well. Some black cherry and seeded red grapes add some fruity aspects that are quite enjoyable. Ultra heavy, syrupy body with little carbonation effects on the tongue. A brush of unidentifiable hops first brush the tongue from inside the coffee riddled syrup. Not overly bitter, the roast coffee flavors are exceptionally balanced. Molasses and dark belgian chocolate flavors round out the long lasting finish in a pleasurable smack, along with a breath of herbal hops.

Poured nice and black with small head. Very rich and malty with some chocolate notes, but could use a bit more hops. This beer MUST be allowed to warm. You will not be satisfied if you serve it too cold!

Deep, dark oily black pour. Lots of bitter chocolate and coffee. Flavors and ABV more intense as it warmed. Definitely one for sipping on Christmas Eve.

Black as can be, with a small dark brown head. Roasted sweet malt taste with some dark fruit, full body, a very sweet malt flavor that lingers on the palate. Can definitely taste the alcohol, will warm you on a cold winters day. A robust full flavored stout with a strong presence of alcohol..very nice.

(bottle) Deep black with essentially no head, but does have scant lace. Aroma of darkly roasted malt with some coffee. Flavor is a bit sweet with raisins/dark fruits, some coffee and a hint of chocolate.

Bottle. Pours a dark black with a thin tan head, leaving a nice amount of quickly dissipating lacing on the glass. The aroma is full of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee. The flavor is rich. An initial alcohol burn blends into coffee and chocolate. Tremendous beer!
