Bottle. "Light does not pass through this," says Lise. Black opaque color. Virtually no head. Coffee, roasted notes, nuts, spicy . . . like a hidden nutmeg. Caramel, toffee hints as well. Malty bitterness blend on front of the tongue to start followed by a toffee coffee finish. Well balanced. Neither too heavy nor too light. Solid

Bottle pours black with a lingering brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasty malt, chocolate, and booze. Flavor is rich roasty malt, a bit of chocolate, coffee, and hops, alcohol showing in the finish.

Pours solid black with a decent brown head. Aroma is chocolate and juicy malt. Taste is lightly roasted malt, milk chocolate and vanilla. Thin creamy texture and a bitter coffee bean finish.

Poured black/dark dark brown with a thin caramel head. Aroma is kind of lacking. There are some malt notes in there and definite booze character. The taste is about the same with malts, some chocolate, booze, mocha. Smooth finish. Complex and nice. I served too cold tho... I’ll re-rate after I try it again

Bottle from Belmont. Looks great - dark black with a nice thick down brown head that lasts. Aroma - strong malts with a noticeable alcohol presence. Flavor - Good, not amazing. A little strong on the alcohol. Dark malts with notes of chocolate that lead to a rather bitter finish. Something about it though that I don’t love. Altogether, still good. Palate is great - thick and smooth and fun to drink. Pretty good imperial stout.

Courtesy of After4ever, thanks Tom!! This beer is pitch black and the head is dark brown, creamy and lasting. The aroma has notes of chocolate, roasted malt, licorice and a touch of dark fruit – it is very, very alluring!! The slightly sweet flavor has a roasted bitterness and notes of roasted malt, chocolate, licorice, light dark fruits and the finish is slightly bitter. It is intense, but also very pure in all notes, extremely well balanced and harmonic and it’s vinous in a very nicely balanced way, never dominating, just as a piece of the entire and extremely well tasting puzzle.... I’m in love!

Excellent Imperial Stout here. 2009 Poured from a 12oz bottle into a snifter. WOW... Chocolaty, Roasted malts, a little coffee. Extremely smooth for being so fresh and 10%! Awesome beer, world class.

On draft at the stable in downtown stl. Pours blackier than black. Roasted malt and bitter chocolate. Smoothest imperial stout I’ve ever had. More it warmed up the better it got. Nice warming alcohol feel
