Commercial Description:
A fine companion to end a meal or relax in front of the hearth with, this robust ale will cellar well for years. Brewed with ten varieties of malted barley this stout is extremely smooth, complex and rich in body. We recommend serving at cellar temperature. Sit back and enjoy its richness and complexity, you're about to drink the ultimate winter warmer.

Pours a pitch black color with a hint of brown at the edges when held to the light. A small, foamy dark tan colored head tops the body and slowly fades a to thin film without leaving much lace. The aroma shows dark chocolate, dark fruits, vanilla, and some anise. There is also plenty of toasted caramel and roast as well. The flavor follows and is very rich with the dark chocolate and sweet caramel blending nicely with the dark fruits, roast, and earthy spices. The mouthfeel is full bodied and smooth with subtle carbonation with a lengthy roasted chocolate finish. This is a really nice imperial stout.

Bottle. Pour was black, with a finger of head. Taste of dark fruit, chocolate, and coffee. I little big for my liking, but thats what you get with an imperial stout.

Poures thick, oily black with a wonderful brown head with a perfect amount of carbonation. Smells of chocolate and burnt bitterness with some nice smoke. Tastes is upfront very dark and bitter chocolate, with a nice chocolate and bitter smoke ending with nice coffee undertones. Excellent impy stout that all others should try to imitate! Best mouthfeel I’ve ever had.

12oz bottle, thanks to fata2683, poured into a tulip glass produced one of the most beautiful ales to date with it’s brown, thick head and black body. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Predominant flavors of toasted coffee beans, chocolate, and molasses. The lacing left behind was incredible. One of the best Imperial Stouts that I’ve had. Thanks, Son!

Bottle. Poured a jet black color with a tow finger tan head. This beer left plenty of lacing on the side of the glass as iit went. Aroma was rich chocolate, dark coffee, and roasted malts. Flavor was smoky, chocolate, burnt notes. Aftertaste was mildly bitter. Very rich and complex. Thick beer. Very very good.

Very dark dense appearance; thin brown head. Rich cool aroma - dark chocolate, medium/heavy roast. Rich bitter/sweet flavor, reminds me of my first experiences with imperial stouts. Impression of hops, though doesn’t seem to be overdone. Very Expedition Stout-ish, or Kentucky Bourbon Stout sans the bourbon. A very competent take.

$11.99 / 4 Pack- I was completely unexpecting this! I know Founder’s has great beer, but I was not prepared for how much I like this. As of now, this will end up being at the top of my rating list--above the incredible Speedway Stout! Nice chocolate, heavy malt, and coffee tones. Little alcohol on the tongue and finish, but I happen to like that. Just excellent!

Bottle pours black with a lingering brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasty malt, chocolate, and booze. Flavor is rich roasty malt, a bit of chocolate, coffee, and hops, alcohol showing in the finish.
