Jun 9, 2009 Pours a three finger dark brown head that fades slowly to a thin layer leaving some lace. Black color, no highlights. Light carbonation and heavy bodied. Sweet roasted coffee nose. Flavor is sweet roasted coffee, don’t detect the bourbon barrel, high ABV is hidden, almost burnt coffee finish. Nice stout. Pricey at $6.95 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

Jun 7, 2009 Pours an oily black with no head, just a little lacing, little apparent carbonation. Aroma and flavor are dominated by bourbon from beginning to end. The bourbon overpowers any other vague flavors that might be present. Not a bad flavor ultimately, but really like drinking a weak whiskey, in flavor, that is. Palate is somewhat creamy, but also a little watery for the style. Not bad, but unmemorable for a Top 50 beer. Overall, very good.

Jun 6, 2009 WOW! Pitch black color. Smells mostly of chocolate and coffee with a hint of bourbon. Taste is medium bodied and quite complex. Tastes mostly of chocolate with some very rich undertones of coffee and bourbon. Has a little bite in the end like most bourbons do, I feel privileged to have had this one.

Jun 4, 2009 Bourbon Barrrels do it better! A great stout to begin with and now even better. A great, strong wood flavor and smoth texture. Definately give this one a try!

Jun 2, 2009 The look is very dark black with a tannish colored head. Brown tinges. The smell is coffee, dark chocolate, malts, roasty, wood, bourbon. Very nice. Thee taste is malts, bourbon, coffee, and very roasty. Good.

Jun 1, 2009 Bottle at The Rake, HogTownHarry visit May 2009. Good subtle bourbon on aroma. Black lasting tan head. Quite sharp on the aroma. Lots of bouron on end. Very choccy. Just a bit too intense to be enjoyable if truth be told.

May 29, 2009 Best coffee styled stout I’ve ever had. Thank to Rciesla for sharing bottle. The normal breakfast stout is great but this kills it.
