Commercial Description:
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

This one just hits me in all my good spots. Smooth bourbon burn....check. Coffee, vanilla, oak......check. This just has so much going on and I can’t get enough.

A Mes rate. Bottle at home thanks to Grant.
A thick vampire black pour with a decent, lasting tan head. Big chewy chocolate malt all round. Coffee and vanilla are a given, as are the stinking barrel notes. But there is something just that bit extra here. Yes the bourbon is obvious too but there are distinct notes of Islay whiskies that really make a difference. Seaweed, peat, slight iodine, yum. The alcohol is just a little on the raw side but it’s not too much of a spoiler. The vanilla and marzipan notes are excellent from start to finish. Great great beer, it’s just too hot. Cut out the raw boozy character and it would be sublime. As it is, I find it just s little over the top.

From the bottle and courtesy of Secret Santa, pours black with a thick tan foamy head. Aroma is coffee beans. Taste is smooth but with definite alcohol. Flavors of coffee, vanilla, dark roasted malts, alcohol, and a lightly bitter aftertaste. Thick but smooth, a flavorful beer.

Bottle. super coffee choc malt nose I could smell this all day. A touch boozy but huge flavor intense roasted malts and a thick mouthful. As good as it is I may prefer the regular breakfast to it. Glad I got to try this. Ty Ryan.

Thanks to rustychiles for the share on this one. Pours a viscous black with no head. Aroma of thick roast, vanilla, chocolate, and bourbon. I’m no bourbon fan, and this was still a little harsh for me, but this was a pretty darn good bourbon stout. Especially the aroma. As it warms, the bourbon, vanilla, diecetyl, chocolate, roast, and alcohol flavors meld together better. Pretty good.

Pours a viscous black with a small brown head. aroma is bourbon coffee chocolate licorice. flavor is chocolate, licorice, coffee, hops, chocolate, bourbon. slick mouthfeel and pronounced chocolate sweetness melds with the coffee and bourbon and hops in the finish nicely. awesome imperial stout.

w-o-w. pours midnight black with an almost nothing beige head. aroma is deeeeeep, dark chocolate, black coffee, kentucky bourbon, and maybe some more black coffee. taste is very strong of coffee, with some chocolate and an alcohol finish. very thick, roasty and full of coffee and chocolatey goodness. best imperial stout i have had in my life. one of the best beers i have ever had in general, hands down.

Bottle cellared for about a year. Pitch black pour with a thin mocha head. Aroma of oak, vanilla, bourbon, and coffee. The coffee flavor is huge, but I still got a big alcohol burn too. The finish is subtle chocolate and vanilla with more coffee bitterness, again the alcohol comes through. I have to say I expected a bit more flavor and less burn.
