Commercial Description:
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

A lot of flavor. Coffee, vanilla, oak, chocolate and bourbon. For being a heavy stout, not too harsh on the mouth and very smooth. Definately recommended for those who love stouts

I’ll admit I was scared of this one because it smelled hot. Still a bit too bourbony but tasty none the less. Gets easier to drink while of warms.

bottle poured into a snifter has a dark black color and a nice thick brown head that became a coating. aroma initially is overpowering on the bourbon but settles back after a minute. coffee, malt, baking chocolate, and plenty of charred wood. mouth feel is rich and coating with low carbonation. flavor has bitter burnt coffee, dark and chocolate malt, barrel wood, and bourbon. this version overpowers the beauty the oats add in the regular breakfast stout removing some subtleties. charred barrel and bourbon are great but really powerhouse. don’t get me wrong this is exceptional and very enjoyable.

Bottle... Poured black with a brown head. Aroma of mocha, roasted coffee, and malt. Bourbon flavors upfront with also some oatmeal, black coffee that stayed through to the finish. It was a like an Irish Car Bomb that you could sip instead of chug. Had a quick punch of alcohol in the finish that was quickly balanced by the malt and coffee flavors.

On Tap at the Union! They had it listed as just breakfast and the bartender said it was actually the Kentucky breakfast....and I shit myself. I couldnt finish my Rouge nitro fast enough. But anywhooo on the the rating. Black pour with a nice small dark head. big roasty aroma with LOTS of coffee. Maybe a touch of burbon. Same with the Flavor. I have had the breakfasy many times and this is aweful close. I would love to try a real bottle of this. to compare at home. but outstanding none the less.

12oz bottle shared by crosling. Pours black with a small tan ring. Aromas of whiskey oak barrel, coffee, chocolate and roasted malts. Flavors the same with a lot of bourbon, which I enjoy very much. Basically an awesome beer, regular Breakfast stout with some bourbon notes. I would love a few bottles to call my own. Thanks again Nick.

12 oz bottle-pours a thin dark brown head and used oil black color. Aroma is lots of ash, wood, chocolate/coffee, then some bourbon as it warms. Taste is lots of ash, wood, chocolate/coffee, then some bourbon as it warms, some earthy biting hops. Full, slightly syrupy body. Sipping, occasional as its nice but not my style. Thanks jwc215 for sharing this.
