Commercial Description:
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

Awesome. Black as night with a mouthfeel that is viscous and thick. Aroma of bourbon and expresso. Taste of coffee, bourbon, vanilla and chocolate.

12oz bottle(courtesy of Hopscotch)-Pitch black body with a nice small tan head and an aroma of coffee, bourbon, chocolate, and slight vanilla. Taste begins with vanilla then bourbon and follows with some chocolate and slight alcohol. This full bodied brew is very well balanced. Great tasting. Awesome.

On tap at brewery out of snifter. This beauty pours black tar with minuscule oak brown head. Lacing at each sip. Aroma with plethora of scents including coffee, whiskey, chocolate, some vanilla. Chewy milk chocolate mixed with bourbon undertones creates a unique invigorating sensation for the palate. The thick balanced brew is a wonderful experience.

Bottle. A gift from CMUBEERMAN. Andrew, you totally rock! Pours tar, tan head. Aroma is pretty intense: malt, chocolate, coffee, bourbon, oak, vanilla, pine. Flavor is similar and creamy. Pretty amazing and very well blended for the alcohol content. Aliendan says, "It doesn’t make you feel like you will to sink to the bottom of the ocean" as is the case with many imperial stouts. This is an excellent beer and my highest rated so far. This is pretty damn smooth and well, pretty.

Thanks to fantomas! Heavy chocolate and coffee aromas, sweet and creamy with hints of bourbon. Pours black with no head. Rich flavors, vanilla and coffee flavors, surprisingly sweet, with hints of oak and whiskey. The 10% is well hidden. Very tasty brew!

thanks to the BA wednesday night tasting and the countless numbers of RBer’s that have sent me a bottle... black colored beer with a long lasting brown head (orange tints). it slowly disappears to a film leaving behind some spotty lace and stays there for the remainder. the aromas of fresh coffee and chocolate hit me just before a light note of bourbon and it’s woody caramel sweetness. there’s also smells of dry bitter herbs akin to licorice root skins and malt ashiness. the bourbon is so well integrated into the flavor of this. most times it ends up boozy and over powering. so, this is special... the palate is only slightly sweet and bourbon-y with the aroma played over into the flavor. chocolate, coffee and vanilla are combined with a bitterness throughout the whole experience. body is medium and the mouth feel is nothing special with the exception that it is light enough to drink an insane amount of this nectar...

Super dark pour, Smells of tasty, fresh roast coffee. Tastes very similar to the regular BS, but has a little bourban sweetness at the end. Not overpowering by any means. The bourbon barrell works well for this brew for sure, but coffee still dominates the flavor, and its tasty!
