Aroma is bourbon, oak, vanilla, and caramel with hints of dark chocolate and coffee. Taste is very up front with the bourbon with some chocolate and coffee, and becomes sweeter. Too much up front with the bourbon, it should only accent the brew...........not define it. joekfsu (138), Boardman, Ohio, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 3, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours pitch black in kind of that thick motor oil kind of pour. Limited amounts of dark tan head but the head lingered until the last sip. Aroma of bourbon and oak with some coffee and earth sprinkled in. Initial flavor is dominated by alcohol and coffee, with some bourbon noted in there at times as well. Flavor ended with much of the same but almost became sweeter from chocolate and less of the bitter coffee taste. Tons of lacing, very heavy body, very limited carbonation, and the alcohol was definitely detectable in this one. To summarize, have fresh pairs of underwear on hand when trying this, you will need them. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 1, 2008 Black pour, small brown head. Aroma is coffee all the way. Flavor is coffee beans, chocolate and caramel then to the bourbon and oak. The bourbon is very subtle but probably muted by the coffee and the oak comes through pretty nicely. Creamy mouthfeel and the coffee beans are as bitter as it gets. The oak and bourbon really linger and the coffee isn’t too much. Just a nice version of breakfast stout but nothing too crazy. Aroma was great, plenty of coffee, chocolate, malt, and some bourbon/oak. Taste is similar with some hop bitterness in the finish. Mouth was big, thick, and creamy, without too much carbonation. Overall, a great imperial stout. jbuzz (659), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 30, 2008 simply put, one of the best. the breakfast stout in itself is fantastic but add the oak barrel aging and you get added notes of vanilla, oak, and of course bourbon. i gave one of my four pack to a friend from new hampshire, he said it was the best beer he had ever had. wickedpete (626), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 30, 2008 Thanks to Bob for this one. Dark, thick black pour. A medium brown creamy head disappears quickly. Aroma is a chalky coffee and chocolate. Flavor is boozy up front, chocolaty, slight sourness, bakers chocolate bitterness lasts in the finish, and a slight caramel bourbon flavor is noticed. One of these is enough for me, I much prefer the original breakfast. jeffwilliams11 (310), hooterville, Michigan, USA
