Commercial Description:
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

bottle- smells like a popsicle stick...that woody. some crown royal in the background as well. And taste? Well, not for me. Tasted like I was drinking something a friend of mine used to call "death". Beer laced with copious amounts of hard liquor. "Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish...". I am suggesting that your "process" includes dumping gallons of bourbon into the beer, and bottling it. Maybe I am not into this whole barrel aged thing. This is one instance where I can safely say "I want my beer to taste like beer".

Bottle. Black body, small dense tan head, woody nose with a healthy splash of bourbon and chocolate notes. Very strong whisky flavors, with coffee/chocolate very much in the background, and some burnet roastiness. Not for everyone, but I enjoyed it greatly.

If it wasn’t such a problem to drink at 9 in the morning (unless its football Saturday for those college football fans out there) I would have this for breakfast. The pour is about as black as black can get (scientist are currently working to verify reports that Kentucky Breakfast is actually a black hole). Vanilla, chocolate, coffee, oak and alcohol on the nose. Texture is very oily/dense. Vanilla, lots of coffee, bourbon/oak and about five other things that I have not yet determine all mingle to provide an incredible drinking experience. Try it warm..its very pleasant.

Wow. This pours as black as tar, with a dark tight head that lingers for a bit and turns into gorgeous lacing. The aroma is powerful with coffee and, what is that............. BOURBON!! Smells like my wife’s Makers Mark marinated ribs, with a touch of oak. I didn’t dare touch this until it warmed enough that no condensation remained on the glass. The first sip was just as imagined, with strong bourbon overtones, oak, and alcohol. The mouthfeel is incredibly creamy. The most I’ve ever tasted. The finish is unbelievably smooth and clean, with a touch of the smoke.. This was a real treat. I hope to find more, and soon!

Nice aroma of bourbon with a hint of coffee and chocolate lying underneath. This pours a motor oil black, with just a lonely ring of tan foam hanging around the edge of the glass. Wow... this has a wonderful creamy, thick, full mouthfeel. Can pick up the bourbon flavors, as well as the oak and vanilla, and a touch of coffee. This is a very mellow and drinkable beer.

Dark, blackish pour with a medium but thick tan head - just under room temp at pour. Aroma is dominated by coffee and dark chocolate, but a nice helping of oak and bourbon come through. Flavor is a nice coffee/chocolate mix with some impressive wood (oak), bourbon, and vanilla flavors. Barrel aging does well for this one. Mouthfeel is superb - smooth, smoky and delicious. A real winner here!

Bottle (thanks Ughsmash). Finally got around to opening this much anticated beer. Pours a amazingly thick deep, deep dark brown with a average-sized tan head. Coffee dominates the aroma, with some bourbon notes, some wood hints and a dash of vanilla. Flavors are much the same - lots & lots of sweet coffee, roasted malts and a little of the booze. I thoroughly enjoyed this brew! Would love to get some more.
