Commercial Description:
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

Yum! Poured a black body with a small wispy brown-grey head. Oaky, sweet, complex, and clean. A great approach of vivacious bourbon flavor, but balanced keenly with subtle oak. F yeah!

Bottle courtesy after4ever. The pour looks just like an Impy Stout should look, except the head is a bit thin. Big chocolate aroma, we’re talking real chocolate here, with a touch of oaky vanilla behind it. Full body and light carbonation. Sweet taste of vanilla, chocolate, oak and just a bit of coffee. Dry oak finish. Nice!

very roasty aroma along with chocolate, alcohol, and nuts. Roasty flavor, with lactic sourness, bourbon aging creaminess and warming alcohol. Its a creamy pleasing stout but not complex enough to warrant the high scores.

12oz bottle. It’s 7:30pm but it feels like I’m waking up for work at 6am! So much coffee on the nose, with its black pour and Starbuck’s goodness. A small, deep chocolate head rounded things out.

12 oz. bottle via trade with sliffy - Pours a thick dark brown color with a 1/2 finger thick light brown head. This is one of the darkest beers I’ve seen. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, and light wood. Has a smooth milk chocolate and coffee flavor. Leaves a slight roasted malt after taste. Medium to full body. Light alcohol presence. An excellent beer. Thanks Dan.

Bottle: Don’t know why I haven’t rated this before now. Thick black pour, with a small tan head that dissipated quickly. Aroma, bourbon, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, all are really rich. One of those beers that you can just enjoy the aroma of, just as much as the taste. Flavor, vanilla and oak, coffee, some chocolate and roasty malts. There is some woodiness to it at the tail end. A pleasent warming effect, nice and full bodied. Very smooth. This is one amazing beer.

bottles courtesy of Dmac621 & Iowaherkeye. Thanks!!
Pours pitch black with a big medium lived dark brown head. Smell is strong coffee, mild bourbon and oak. Very well balanced smell and not overly bourbony. Taste is equally as well balanced with rich dark chocolate like roasty malt, a touch of vanilla, stong oak flavor, a touch of bourbon, and bold coffee flavors and a bit of caramel. This is really nice, and quite a bit more enjoyable than the original breakfast stout. Medium to thick body and moderate to light carbonation. Awesome beer and one of my absolute favorites, especially with 1 year of age on it.

thanks kp A dark brown pour with a chococoffee aroma. A flavor of strong coffee with a kicker of chocolate. A palate that is smooth and rich a sweet ending to a hot beer. I know I say it alot but I love a IS that has a warm alc punch. I will not say that I like this beer. I love it.
