Nose is smoky with woodiness, lots of aocoholic bourbon. Mouth is woody seaweedy alcohol tones, soky refinery smelly. Finishes a bit coppery, vanilla and long. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 1, 2008 Black pour, small brown head. Aroma is coffee all the way. Flavor is coffee beans, chocolate and caramel then to the bourbon and oak. The bourbon is very subtle but probably muted by the coffee and the oak comes through pretty nicely. Creamy mouthfeel and the coffee beans are as bitter as it gets. The oak and bourbon really linger and the coffee isn’t too much. Just a nice version of breakfast stout but nothing too crazy. fishingnet (1047), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 31, 2008 Bottle. Pours black with a small brown head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of coffee, bourbon, roasted malt, caramel, and a hint of vanilla & oak. Taste is the same as aroma but more pronounced. Mediumium full mouthfeel that finishes dry and roasty with a moderate amount of bitterness and very well hidden alcohol. A very well done BB Stout with just the right amount of bourbon flavor and well balanced complexity. MrBendo (1044), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 14, 2007 Thanks to RagallachMC for the bonus bottle (wow). Pours near black with a small head. Fair lacing. Aroma of coffee, bourbon, vanilla and a bit of chocolate (in that order). Taste is much the same, with a touch of alcohol. Full body. Rich and slightly alcoholic texture. The bourbon doesn’t over-ride anything in this. Beautiful presentation of flavors. gunhaver (1043), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a dark brown color, and very generous lacing on the glass, with a creamy small head. Giant roasted coffee in the nose, which flows perfectly with bourbon, and lots of smoke. Flavor is divine. Caramel, toffee, chocolate, roasted coffee, big malty body, vanilla, bourbon....wow. Delicious. Extremely drinkable and has a sharp bitterness. Awesome. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA

Beautiful black thick pour with amazing brown chocolate milk mocha colored head that is thick and enticing. Aroma is bold and full of oak, roasted coffee beans, and vanilla. Flavor is balanced and not muted. It is vanilla, oak, and roasted maltiness. It has a nice subtle bourbon meets dark chocolate finish. Mouthfeel is nice but a tad on the thin and watery side. Overall, great smell, great look, great taste and very close to perfect. bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 12, 2007 Goodness amazing. Pour was so dark black with tanish head. Aroma was of oak bourbon coffee and a roasty/smoke. Flavor was much the same and to my drinking pleasure the bourbon didn’t take over like some other aged beers.
