Commercial Description:
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with goldtwins (thanks!). Poured a dark black color with an averaged sized brown head. Aromas of wood, vanilla, smoke, roast, espresso coffee, and some chocolate. Very nice aroma. Tastes of wood, vanilla (strong but not as strong as in the aroma), roast, coffee, chocolate, and a very light bourbon finish. The barrel aging was done very nicely as it wasn’t overpowering. Light lacing left on the glass. Alcohol content well hidden. This one was very easy to drink.

rerate sampled at mich beer fest in lansing...this beer was phenomenal....aroma was of chocolate, coffee, caramelized sugars, raison, with a solid bourbon backbone...flavor was just as amazing....subtle bourbon that complements the coffee, chocolate, vanilla, molasses, and nutty characteristics involved....a delightful treat!! may even outmatch its sibling, the regular bfast stout kentucky bf 03’ on tap at founders (special for the black beer party)...black appearance with thin brown head...a very sweet sugary smell, with strong hints of chocolate and coffee....a great roastiness to the flavor..heavy in chocolate and coffee...a sweeter beer than its counterpart in the original bfast....a great beer, but not as good as its predecessor 8 4 8 3 15

This is as good as it gets. 12 oz bottle. Solid black with a small brown head. Nose of chocolate, wheat (?) and not overwhelming whiskey. Taste of chocolates, strawy, and whiskey in just the right amount. Body/mouth is what does this beer-chewy, thick, viscous, rich, like eating chocolate cake. Just a great beer. I need more of these...

The beer pours to a dark brown/black body with a tan head. The aroma is a nice coffee and bourbon. Very nicely balanced and not over powered. The flavor is very smooth. Nice coffee and subtle bourbon. Nice, perfect palate.

12 oz bottle, Are you Frikin’ kidding me?I cant save anything...this would have one to put a few away for later...oh well... A deep black color with a creamy dark brown head. Nose is very very alluring - chocolate, coffee, some decent bourbon notes, touched with vanilla. Full, rich mouthfeel, did I mention Creamy? wow Creamy!!! I LOVE this Beer... Very complex flavors, rich chocolate, smooth coffee, distinct soft bourbon. Full of body and the integration of the flavors here is completely seamless. A fantastic beer from a fantastic brewing company... more please

Super dark pour, Smells of tasty, fresh roast coffee. Tastes very similar to the regular BS, but has a little bourban sweetness at the end. Not overpowering by any means. The bourbon barrell works well for this brew for sure, but coffee still dominates the flavor, and its tasty!
