Forms into a small very dark tan head that fades pretty quick. Taste is just about perfect. Nice coffee blended into just a bit of bourbon. A little less than I thought it would be actually. A top notch, extremely drinkable brew. cmr1517 (35), New Haven, Indiana, USA

That’s not going to keep the score to far down for me but I was expecting to get kicked in the as$ with bourbon when I took a sip. However, I Absolutely loved this beer and the palate is awesome! Jet black with minimal head. Flavor was a dark coffee and slght choclolate. Wish I had more! joe1510 (501), Illinois, USA

Kentucky Breakfast Stout pours black as night. Visocus body that gurgles into my snifter. A chocolate half finger head formed on the pour that faded to a ring. The ring leaves ringed lacing after each drink. Very handsome beer.
Big notes of coffee and vanilla. This beer absolutely makes my mouth water. Mild bourbon and oak. The coffee smells freshly brewed and hot. This very easily could be the best smelling beer I’ve ever had the opportunity to smell.
The flavor is as good as the smell. One of the best beers I’ve ever tasted. Starts off with freshly brewed coffee and cream. Mild vanilla up front. Mid palate the coffee gets stronger and is accompanied by hazelnut, a splash of bourbon, and even a little hop spiciness. Excellent!
Mouthfeel is perfect. Thick and creamy body. Sluggish carbonation lets the beer work through my mouth velvety smooth.
There is no doubt about this beer beeing a sipper but it’s one that I could sip from the moment I rolled out of bed until I fell back asleep.
This is one special brew. I wasn’t sure if this would live up to all the talk or not. It lives up to and surpasses the talk. One of the best beers I’ve expierenced in my drinking days. Exceptional!

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 30, 2007 Me and Jared each had a bottle to ourselves for this fantastic tasting. Drank this one out of a big snifter, what a massive aroma! Heavy bourbon (nearly overpowering), complimented by craploads of molasses. Minimal dark brown head, but poured like thick crude oil, nice and velvety. Flavor was very well balanced between the molasses, vanilla, coffee and excellent oak & bourbon finish, complemented by a bit of black cherry flavor. So thick, the brew left legs on the walls of my snifter glass. Taste lingers forever, the palate is extremely chewy and soft. An absolutely fantastic imperial stout, and looking forward to trying one again! joekfsu (138), Boardman, Ohio, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 3, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours pitch black in kind of that thick motor oil kind of pour. Limited amounts of dark tan head but the head lingered until the last sip. Aroma of bourbon and oak with some coffee and earth sprinkled in. Initial flavor is dominated by alcohol and coffee, with some bourbon noted in there at times as well. Flavor ended with much of the same but almost became sweeter from chocolate and less of the bitter coffee taste. Tons of lacing, very heavy body, very limited carbonation, and the alcohol was definitely detectable in this one. To summarize, have fresh pairs of underwear on hand when trying this, you will need them. MaltOMeal (668), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA

Pours a dark brown, almost black and thick like motor oil. Thin light brown head. Some lacing on the glass. Kinda incredible smell of bourbon, alcohol, ashes, wood and roastiness with some chocolate. Thick mouthfeel. This is one rich tasting, decadent brew! Taste flavors of chocolate, wood, alcohol and coffee. Slightly bitter chocolate aftertaste.
