Appearance: Solid black pour with a very thin brown head. Aroma: Freaking awesome. Coffee dominates, but notes of dark chocolate are present. Maybe some roasted malt. Flavor: Roasted malt and coffee mainly, but a bit of chocolate and bourbon are present. Palate: Full body with soft carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Overall: Best so far. Love this beer. Glad I have more. Wish it was a tad cheaper though.

Complex aroma of roasted coffee beans, rich chocolate, vanilla cream and bourbon. Taste is a very rich combination of roasted coffee beans and chocolate with vanilla bourbon hints. Very nicely done and the bourbon flavor is not overdone which makes it pleasurable to sip. tobias (155), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

Aroma is strong of coffee with hints of chocolate, oak and vanilla. Flavor is coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and caramel. The bourbon flavor is nicely integrated. This beer has a nice long finish. Some stouts seems to have a bitter, astringent finish, while this beer has a nice mellow mocha/milk chocolatey finish. The 11.2% is well hidden. To me this is a dangerously drinkable beer. Dark blackish pour...decent tannish head. Smells great...lots of choco-coffee, woody, some bourbon. At first tast I’m thinking this is barrel aged breakfast stout....delicious. Nice mixture of mocha coffee, bourbon, vanilla with some appropriate bitterness in the end. Smooth and just a tad less than full bodied. Great beer. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Pours a deep dark chocolate brown - very nearly black - with a thin wisp of film in the center of the glass, and a bit of a ring around the edges. This ring initially provides a foam line or two, but shortly thereafter only a few flecks of lace. The aroma is fantastic - tons of roasted malt, charred oak, coffee, and chocolate covered cherry.
Bold flavors of burnt coffee, bitter roasted malt, and charred smoky oak. And bourbon. And raisin. And leather. And molasses. And maduro cigar wrapper. Full body, the carbonation is gentle, but definately not lacking. Burnt raisin, bourbon, oak, and Honduran cigar smoke linger in the aftertaste. So does a trace of alcohol
