Commercial Description:
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

Bottle courtesy of zizzybalubba at Immy’s Backyard Throwdown. Pours black in color with tan head. Aroma roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Taste coffee, roasted malt, vanilla and chocolate with bitter finish.

As a huge fan of the Breakfast Stout, the KBS was a must try. It really is a whole different beer from the bourbon, but to me it drank like a perfectly BA dark chocolate milkshake. Absolutely fantastic!

A top 5 all-time brew the day I brought it home. After 9 months in the cellar, my tasting notebook says, simply: "The greatest."

Pitch black pour with little to no head on it. Some of the finest espresso bean aroma hits you right off the bat. A faint bourbon linger sneaks up on me like a some crazy ninja would, being very subtle but lethal. Viscous mouth feel that holds tight throughout. A malty, brown sugar and vanilla start finishes into fine coffee/espresso with just enough of a bourbon taste that doesn’t overpower it. Very fine brew, I’m just pleased I was able to get my hands on a couple of bottles. 9-5-9-5-19

Re-Rate: Draft at the brewery pours a pitch, midnight black with a medium-sized rocky, tan head. Mild bourbon aroma hits you immediately followed by a mix of dark roasted malt, espresso, dark brown sugar and chocolate. A sweet vanilla bean taste imparts itself upon my mouth and is backed by a smooth chocolate and coffee essence. Notes of the bourbon come through on the finish. Just Phenomenal. 10-5-9-5-19

Thanks to BillVanE for sharing those 2 with me. Great way to start the day! Beautiful imp stout. Really loved the bourbon and coffee taste, which is surprising since i really dont like coffee a lot. Really need get get a case of this and just let it sit in the cellar, having one once in a while.

Wow. If I only had one thing to say it would be wow. Poured from a bottle with virtually no head and is very, very dark. The taste unparalleled. The aroma is amazing. I actually started laughing after smelling this beer in anticipation of the taste. Has a tingly aftertaste. You can taste and smell a hint of coffee. This was truly nailed on the head. Wow.
