On tap at Founders. Board at Founders said 10.2% abv. Poured a brown/amber into a snifter. Bright white head. Aroma has sweet brown sugar, roasted nut, sweet malt. Flavor is equally sweet, carmelized sugars, brown sugar, molasses. Roasted nut tones pop through. Quite carbonated yet smooth going down. Alcohol not apparent. Not my thing, a bit too sweet, but interesting and worth trying at least an 8 ouncer of.

This was a big hit among our group, beer and non-beer drinkers tonight. Apportioned with a dark brown body with a translucent melanoidin red underpinning, topped with a flush cream head. Deep brown malt aromas pour out of the glass, highly infused with maple essence. Delicious complexly malated body. Maple syrup and sherry notes delight the palate, but are harmonized with the malt back-bone. Well-balalanced to hold up the sweetness. Sherry-chocolate finish.

Pours a deep dark chestnut brown color that is pretty much completely opaque, except for the faintest of mahogany edges when held to a light source and a one finger off-white head that slowly fades into a lasting ring. Very minimal spots of lacing. Bourbony chocolate malt aroma with a slight oaky presence as well as some vanilla bean, caramel, subtle dark fruit notes. More of a bourbon presence than I expected but I’m not picking up much maple. Subtle hints of butterscotch and toffee. Silk chocolate malty mouthfeel with a very smooth maple molasses feel. The bourbon notes from the aroma are present but not too hot. Vanilla bean, toffee, caramel and butterscotch flavors are detected as well. Very smooth with only a slight alcohol warmth in the finish but at 11% is pretty well masked. Toffee and dark fruit notes are there but very faint. Highly recommended!

Hand bottle courtesy of markwise. Pours a dark cola brown with thin tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, smoke, oak, caramel, hints of ripe dark fruit. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of maple syrup, brown sugar, molasses, smoke, chocolate. Generally medium to full body with a pleasing sweet malt finish.
