Aroma is pine and citrus with an underlying malty sweetness. The mouthfeel is smoother and creamier than I would have expected. A little hoppy dryness up front ,and some sweet fruit notes. The flavor is extremely well balanced. Grapefruit and pine leads to some caramel sweetness. Fairly dry finish with little aftertaste. A nice pale ale.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 8, 2008 Updated: Feb 1, 2009Bottle. Pours a hazy pale copper, with a big, rocky off-white head. Nose is citrusy, oranges with bit of grainy malt in there also. Hint of astringency. Taste pretty fantastic up front - sweet citrus melds with a dry, biscuity malt character and just a bit of resiny pine, before a really chalky, aspirin-like medicinal quality moves in. Not altogether unpleasant, but it does detract from an initially delicious beer. Palate is medium-light bodied, with a light but full carbonation. Not too crisp, really well done. Overall a pretty good beer - look and feel is spot on, nice aroma, but the big aspirin presence could use some work. theisti (1693), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 7, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of Suttree. Pour is cloudy yellow, golden, ornage with a nice thick 1 1/2 inch white head. Falls slowly revealing nice lacing. Aroma of fresh resin hops and grainy maltiness. A bit of citrus fruit sweetness in the background. Taste is bitterness of the resin and citrus initially, fading into watery graininess and a some astringency towards the end. This one started nice, but finish was a bit bland. This one had a nice drinkable palate, and certainly would be a good session choice. Thanks for this one Phil. nqualls (1428), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 28, 2008 TN tasting at maniac’s. Pours a clearish light amber with some floaties and thin white head. Great orange citrus hop aroma. Flavor is a letdown, dry and bitter floral with a ’rotten vegetable’ edge. Maybe an old bottle? GMUcrew7 (377), Mason, Ohio, USA

Overall a nice APA.
